I don't know how you train josh, but most crossshit coaches look like they just spent the weekend at holiday inn and decide to start teaching.

I can dig it. I will admit that some of the shenanigans that go on in CrossFit are completely asinine. But no more asinine than the shit that goes on in normal gyms on a daily basis. The bottom line is, stupid people do stupid shit. There are stupid people everywhere.

I may sign up for a meet mid-year next year. Probably raw. I just don't want to spend the money for geared!

    ding ding ding!

I dont know about power lifting but I stick mostly to compound lifts and the 5x5 stronglifts program. Ive been focusing on running lately so I have had to drop lifting down to a few days a week. Teh gainz are shrinking but I dont want to lose all my muscle mass I built up! haha

i train raw so i dont think it will carry over very well to single or multi ply events, most federation do allow belt under 10mm and some knee sleeves and wrist wraps. some federation allow knee wraps and consider it raw, which i think is stupid(cough....west side...cough)

    Fuck running! Lift faster! Hahaha

I've never trained geared, or with knee wraps. If I had knee problems I would seriously consider it. But sleeves work just fine for me. As far as Westside, you've got to give Lou some credit, he's 66 and stronger than I am!

Yeah, I'm sure you can tell by now I'm pretty clever. There's plenty more of that quick wit where that came from.

Crossfit is hard but there is a difference in working hard and working smart. Cross fit makes you exert a lot more work to get the same results as traditional strength training. I lift weights so I can be AND look strong. I don't give a fuck about jumping jacks and dick pushups. If crossfit only entailed of olympic lifts, 10 reps or less, I would love it. My workout regimen revolves around bench, squat, DL, and cleans anyways. But the gay look-at-me lifestyle and superiority complex that comes with it makes it a fucking retarded "sport". The physique achieved by the best Crossfitters isn't built by burpees and kipping pullups and upside down squats, it comes from emphasis on the main compound lifts, the meat and potatoes, which is what traditional strength training focuses on. Its kinda like putting a supercharger on your truck and then bragging about your throttle body spacer and chrome exhaust tip and how they added HP.
