I would take Roger Goodell over David Stern any day. Definitely the lesser of the two evils in the world of league commissioners.

Now, as a taxpayer if I heard that Congress wanted to get involved in this circus I would be truly disgusted.

That's the thing, he works for the owners. But if the owners see him as a liability after this incident and possible loss of profits in the future, then I don't see him making it

He may not have seen the video on purpose. I believe if the NFL office received the video that he had to at least known that it existed.

It was a rough game, we dropped one there last season too, the dolphins and Moreno always play us tough. I wouldn't be surprised if we are 0-2 after this week, our defense was a huge disappointment the other day. If Wallace and tannehill burned Revis all day, I don't even want to think about Megatron, or the broncos. Hopefully they turn it around, I think the offense will be really good eventually, once they weed out the slugs in the O-line, but the defense scares me. It's just like 2013 after watching that Miami game...

I was surprised the saints lost too, I'll call that a fluke on Matt Ryan, he's not that good in real life.

Anyways, anyone picking Josh Gordon up in their fantasy leagues?

I'll believe there's a new Drug Policy and think about grabbing Gordon when it's signed and done.

It was 'close' two weeks ago. It was 'close' last week. It was 'close' on Monday. Now's its close again.

Fuck that shit. Let me know when its actually signed, sealed and delivered. Shefter can STFU up about it until then. I'm tired of hearing 'close'.

I agree, but I grabbed him just in case. I'm not sitting on him for two weeks, so if it doesn't happen, I'll drop him back to FA.

When is Bortles gonna start? I thought his pre season was better than Henne's...

Hard to say. They don't have their bye until 'round Thanksgiving, so that isn't gonna be a factor. I guess it's a question of does Henne shit the bed, and does he have the squirts when he does?

Gordon may not fall under the new policy due to the timeframe of his offense.

You think Bill is loosing the locker room a little bit with some of the questionable decisions? ie getting rid of Mankins

I actually thought about this. there were multiple reports of Brady being pissed, and not really talking to anyone for a day or so afterwards. All the teammates were pretty shocked in all their press releases, so idk. I'd like to think that trading a guard wouldn't start a mutiny, but I have no idea. I think the move definitely hurt us, I'm not saying that if we had Mankins we would have won, but I think he would have created a little more time for Brady to work. Ultimately, I think the move was the best for the team, and for the future, as $7m was an awful lot of money for a 32yo declining guard... we now have $13m in cap space, and save a little over $6m the next two years just on mankins' contract. I thought when it happened that we should use that money to sign Revis, but after watching him be sub-average in Miami, I'm hoping we don't, at least for the time being. Maybe he just had a bad game, but an all-pro corner like that cant let fucking Mike Wallace and Ryan Tannehill hose him for 7 catches, over 100yds, and should have been 2 TD's really... Revis got lucky on one play. I half heartedly think we should go after Incognito to fill Mankins' shoes, wouldnt cost much, and could have huge upside... But our O-line sucked last year too, Brady got sacked a career high number of times. We also lost our god of an O-line coach, and have a new one there this year, so that's obviously not going well for us. I was just extremely disappointed in our defense because we barely let Carolina's 1st team offense get a first down in pre season, didnt let them score, and then we let Miami fucking take us for a ride? Idk, I'm thinking we lose to the vikings this week too before any big changes start to happen.

Also, Brandon LaFell sucks. he just sucks. There is no arguing about it, he did horrible. Dominique Easley also sucks, and that was our first round pick. I DO think we should take all drafting responsibilities away from Bill...

Considering Mankins played ...w hat, 1.5 *quarters* before being hurt and sidelined for the Bucs?

correct. And I like what I've seen of Tim Wright so far, we just need to use the two tight end set more often.

I don't play fantasy... and D wins games, just looked like chargers were gonna take it. The Niners have survived in the league by having a good D, and I have only missed like 5 games in the last 6-7 years... meaning being at games. I go to away games even, and the Harbowl Superbowl.

And steelers got worked tonight... which is always fun to see
