Got home to install it. Once finding a spot and plugging it in while my truck is on 'run' it doesn't turn on? I followed the instructions online and it says do that. Anyone know why?

I have a 2nd gen taco and planned to move the USB port over one position. And then mount it to what would be the first three blanks. I get it all pulled out and the switch is keyed such that it won't fit in the fourth slot. So I guess I will mount above rear view mirror.

I can't get my suction cup to stick to that area above the mirror so I gave up and put it in the lower left corner above the dash.

Well, I just finished getting mine installed....and boy was it hot in my garage. Originally I wanted to move my usb/aux plug over one location, and free up the first three slots and place i there. However, when I pulled the usb plug out and moved it over, I saw that it was keyed differently and would not fit in the 4th slot. So, ultimately I decided to mount it above my mirror. The wire is concealed under the headliner and down the A-Pillar. After that run, I ended up with about 6 inches of extra cable that I tucked underneath. And here is the final product.

I used the vertical surface mount with 3M tape and adhered it to the window above the mirror. I the used a flat head screw driver and lightly pulled back the headliner from the window and gently pushed the wire up behind it.
