I know I'm just busting on you lol

I've taken my wife out a few times a winter. I like to get her out with me because it's my favorite thing in the world... Besides her of course ;)

Lol, she's def not a skier, but it's fun to get her out. I want to get her a little better so I feel confident sending her down the blues and meeting me at the bottom.

    Ski gear question:

I need new ski pants, TNF makes a pair that is not insulated, how many people here rock those and just layer up underneath?

I do, I have oakley Gore-Tex and wear base layers. I find it more comfortable and easier for body temp regulation

Yeah I am from the east coast and have an older pair of cheap insulated pants. I sweated my ass off this past year in CO. I ditched the insulated jacket as well. TNF has a pair for $100. Im really short so its hard to find a pair that fit.

Get yourself a Promotive hookup and get some good deals!

I'm on east coast as well and ski at the coldest Mt around... Whiteface haha I layer up and I'm the most comfortable that way, both temp and maneuverability

I run TNF non insulated pants. I live in NC and only ski NC and WV. So I go non-insulated that way I can wear them year around. Just adjust base layer. I usually run Columbia omni-heat leggings underneath when it get pretty cold.

I've used a pair of "uninsulated" powder pants for several seasons (I think they are North Face...), never really had a problem, ..on really cold days i'd have an extra layer... assuming you have a thermal layer (thermal underwear or whatever it's called now) underneath, and as long as moisture from a chairlift seat doesn't bleed through, you should be ok..
