I just bought a 2014 Tacoma, use to own one before. The fancy new radio has HD weather and traffic. And as yet I have not seen it work. We have local HD radio stations in town. About 6 that I know of. But it just keeps saying NO HD signal found ?

And suggestions as to why it won't work ?

The city where you live probably isn't large enough to have that stuff. Unfortunately the city I live is the same, it's too bad because it is pretty cool I thought when I used in a big city on a trip.

Do you have HD radio mode turned on?
From the FM radio screen -> Options -> HD Radio.

    Works good on my '14.

Mine doesn't work either. Wife glanced at the manual today. It said register online to sync it through your phone. Comes with a 3 year trial to pull data off mobile network. Then you have to pay. Haven't done it yet

Come to Canada, you spend extra money for the high end stereo then get none of its features because they aren't available in Canada.

    Complete rip off.

I don't think that's right -- the system can pull weather/traffic from a bluetooth device (the Entune app on your phone serves as the middle man to access the mobile data network to retrieve the info), but will always prefer to get it via HD radio if available.

If you take a look at the last page of this file: http://www.toyota.com/t3Portal/document/omnav/OM34536U/pdf/05-1.pdf
You will see that even when HD radio and a bluetooth connection is available, it will use HD radio.

HD Radio doesn't require any subscription or payment -- it just requires your local stations to support it and be pushing that information.

The radio uses the HD-FM as its first choice for the weather and traffic data, but if you link your phone and run the Entune app on it, the phone will get the data thru the phone.

P.S. - there is no "Navigation Antenna" at least not an external one.

the 2014 weather/temperature sucks, everytime I look at the temperature on the radio it says it is in a different city that has a way higher elevation so the weather is completely off from what it should be.

hopefully there is a flash update on this in the future.

Doubtful. Its showing the city of the nearest HD-FM station. If you have your phone linked tho, the weather map comes from phone data, not HD-FM.

I'm currently in Radium, BC with my '14 w/NAV and the Navigation does work in this part of Canada. HD Weather isn't supported here, but apparently navigation is.

I suppose you guys are talking about the weather and traffic "apps" on the Entune Plus? Even when mine work (which is most of the time AND I didn't renew my XM subscription), I do find them kind of worthless. I am interested in the link with the phone and the "Entune app". My phone is linked to my truck (bluetooth) from music, phone, etc. What will the entune app allow me to do?

The shark fin antenna is the one that does all the satellite work, not the fender's antenna.
