Just fucking killed some chest and arms.

    Incline: 4 sets of 8 on 225, 225, 235, 230
Flat bench: 5 sets of 250x5
    Decline: 3 sets of 5 on 275

Plus some high rep french presses and bicep shit that nobody cares about.

Weighing in at 204 at 5'11.. Up 23 pounds since May. Bulking was awesome, but now time to trim up. 4fba7cad0579f5e98a40b24a0356142e_eb2920aabdd8b7646bfc8f6d89df7f2c3252a32b.jpg

How do you all feel about alternated grip on deadlifts when going heavier than what you can only hold with overhand grip?

i think it's fine as long as you lock out your arms. and make sure you don't pull more than your traps can handle, once your traps give out, and your shoulders internally rotate, that's when you can really fuck your arms up.

I googled it right after I posted and now I'm leaning more towards working on my grip. I'd rather work on my grip as opposed to trying to work with something that's more likely to lead to injury.

The strongest people in the world use alternate grip... There's nothing wrong with it. But, don't use it for everything. You should still be able to hold a good amount of weight in your hands normal grip.

I'm not one or the other, I do both. I think there are extremes of both. It's just funny to come in here and see all the bullshit. I have found some good info from time to time though.

Lol I know, that's actually my favorite part of crossfit. I like those Olympic lifts. I like being fit where I can still run a mile sub 6 min.
Everybody's got their own interests just a lot of crossfit haters on here.

    ^agree 100%

    I prefer it

Talking about gym stuff in the Gym thread? What the fuck were we thinking, guys?!

Going in for Lower B today at lunch. Cloudy with a 100% chance of PAAAAIN! Also, ever since our debate on belts, I haven't worn mine. I still lift the same amount of weight and do the same number of reps, but my lower back is now more sore the following days, so I think I'm probably going to ditch the belt unless I'm going for a 1RM or super high weight, low reps. I made few changes in my upper/lower split, too. It had me doing something like this:

    Upper days:

    chest
    back
    chest
    shoulders
    tris
    bis
    shoulders
    traps

    I switched it to this:

    chest
    back
    chest
    back
    tri's
    bi's
    tri's
    shoulders
    shoulders
    traps

Basically, I felt like some muscles were getting ignored, so I wrote out my favorite exercises for each group, picked the top 4, and split the up into 2's.

    Ex:

For back, I picked, pull-ups, lat pull-downs, v-grip rows, and bent over rows. I put two on Upper A day and 2 on upper B day.

Doing this for each group ensures that nothing gets missed. I'm even going to start from the bottom some days and go up, to make sure the stuff towards the end of the workout gets hit fresh on some weeks.

Lastly, to make sure I won't be doing too much volume or overtaxing the CNS, I'm putting as many days between each upper and each lower workout, so it'll be something like:

    Mon- Upper A
    Tue- Lower A
    Fri- Upper B
    Sat- Lower B

    Thoughts?

I don't think I'd hit Tris before shoulders... You could be slowing gains down on your shoulders since your tris are burnt out. I'm not sure I read your workout right so though...sooo

Duly noted. I didn't even notice that. Good eyes!

 I said the same thing to someone about a month ago...something about getting from point a to point b the easiest way possible. Sure, you can look great doing Crossfit, but I'd rather just lift weights and not worry about puking, pissing myself, or tearing some shit up.

Ain't nobody trying to visit snap city! AMIRYTE!?
