I know right? Was gonna buy aftermarket off E-Bay, but everyone is now in the do it yourself mode with the rears. No baking though...lol Just cutting:eek:

Depot's for $185 plus shipping...screw that... A little dremel action, rattle and epoxy...bam!

I been wanting a dash cam ever since I seen Mike's, but pretty low on my list right now. Just a heads up for you guys; if you get in an accident and you are suspected of being at fault, you are required by law to turn over the footage if you have it. Even if it's self incriminating.

I have a model or so below that one...think I have a dr400 with HD, 64gb micro sd card can hold about 60 hours of driving on the lowest resolution of 420 or something...or maybe 45min of 1080 :D

I also have the black magic pro; power controller thing...it has a bunch of preset toggles to power the camera in park with the engine off for Y time while the battery is greater than XX.XX voltage...good for parking in shady areas and it'll shut off if the battery gets to low.

    o really?

    the epoxy...

kind of like grinding out a weld, remove the bonding material leaving the parent material to work with.

I don't know if it's actually part of the HRS, but it's like that in almost every state.

looks like there's some spiderwebs around the edges. Is that from the grinding? Didn't think there was that much epoxy to grind off before you're actually shaving away the lens.

Gents... It was fun...but not worth the effort as up close you can see the hairline fractures where the cutting wheel cut. Tried black paint along the edge to hide it as well as black silicone when I sealed them, but it's still visible...

I'm OCD, so I'll be getting the Depot taillights now I guess. Well...I did one of them..:D I did get a new cordless Dremel though with the effort...haha I can use that in the future for sure...

Yeah I kind if figured that would happen. I could see it around the edges of the pic you posted. Props for trying though. Now I know who to call when I need a dremel!

Well...I have to use them until I get new ones, so mine as well do'em both...:D

I ended up taping off a 1/2" border around the outside of the cover and putting a band of paint around the light to cover the fissures on the edges...lol Actually, it doesn't look too damn bad! Since I did one, I now have a better picture of how to do the other side to make it somewhat cleaner. The only thing with this project is that if you only have one vehicle...don't plan on leaving the house soon... Lights gotta set overnight so the silicone will cure...

I sent my Mom a link to the Anzo taillights and said I want these for my birthday...:D

Edit: That chrome housing for the LED's does not come apart which sucked. I wanted to paint the LED housing cover black as well...:(

There's a channel groove around the whole light that you follow. The plastic melts as your cutting and tends to reseal which is a bitch, but you just have to have patience...:D
