It's made entirely of carbon fiber. :p
Bike commuters down there think they are on the Tour de Portland  Getting to work is serious business, yo! Dad has plenty of them try to cut off his work truck, which is similar to this pic below.

    Seriously, do two things:

    • Buy during the off season when prices are down and old inventory is getting cleared. You should also have a healthy amount of craigslist posting as well
    • Research the model listings and find the point of diminishing returns. For example, back when I was looking at mountain bikes, I bought the second 'best' hardtail that Kona made. This was because the next step up was a huge jump in price, while the only benefit was slightly better gears. Moving up to full suspension would have been an even larger expense, and I would have had the lowest end full suspension model they made.

Is it that time of year again?

A google search says $1700 - $2800. I couldn't find that exact one. Why do you want such an expensive bike? Are you that serious about it? I have my own spendy hobbies, but I'm curious.

He's going to be a subie driver. All subie drivers have a bike on their roof. J/p, I agree with the spendy hobby thing. I just droped almost two grand on two L series lens for my camera. Sold all my other lens besides one.

Is the frame big or small enough for you? If the frame won't fit for you, then any amount would be too much. If you think it will fit, offer a lowball of maybe a grand.

I have the same pedals on my bike and I like them. It does mean you have to get bike shoes and the clips to screw in to them. There are 3 main kinds of clips, the egg beaters for mountain bikes, Look brand/style, and I don't remember what the third one is called, although I want to say one brand calls the SPD. I've never looked into egg beaters. Shoes for the other 2 types of clips are good for one or the other if I remember right. On the bottom of the shoes are threaded metal inserts, which allow replaceable clips to be screwed in to the shoes, and there is a different placement for Look vs the other kind.

    same shit as everyone else
    Need help

Got a little stupid this weekend and got high centered on a ledge. No where to winch off of. I was the only rig and had to hi tail it off said ledge to get out. In doing that I ripped half the inside lugs "tread" off my left rear KM2. These left some pretty deep gashes in the tire but I don't see any threads exposed. Worried it'll explode at 75 now. I only need one tire that's like 50% tread. 285LT R17. It's pointless to get a brand new one as the tire is already and inch or more smaller than new. Anyone got a spare around or have some advice other than busting out 1400 for a new set?

Search craigslist for a spare. I've also had bad luck with km2's. Get something with a harder rubber compound next time.
