    So...this is what we're looking at?

    2 meets on these dates:

    October 17-19 (for those that like to sweat profusely and get ate up by bugs)

    January 9-11 (for those that like to shiver around a camp fire and wade in icy cold water if they get stuck)

    Shall we call these the official dates then and start planning for the meets?

    Btw several of us are camping after the St Aug meet Oct 4th somewhere. Not 100% sure where yet but it is going to happen if any would like to join jump on the Jax meet thread in my sig and chime in to stay updated.

    Jan 9-11 was Greg's preference and I didn't really notice anyone say it wasn't good for them until now. My honest preference would be Jan 2-4, but since any date is do-able for me, I'll go with what works for most people.

    That said, I guess we have two possible January dates now...9-11 and 16-18. What does everyone else think?

    So was the oct dates. So go with his preference of oct dates, my pref of jan dates and call it a day. Win win lol!

    In all seriousness though just pick whatever dates. If I can go I'll go, if not I'll just go out there whenever I can. Planning the dates is getting exhausting IMO.

    hehe lol, well its not 100% guaranteed I will get that leave now that I have my 5 level and am no longer in training and am used as manning. BUT being a 5 level, I also do have the ability to freely take leave. I just need to forecast in advance so I can be the first one to request "X" days so if theres someone else on crew wanting those days, ive already requested it before them

    yeah I got ya. well in my line of work (financial reporting) any month after a quarter end (Jan, April, July, Oct) I pretty much am slammed trying to get that quarter's numbers out to the SEC and the public stockholders and most of the time I have to work most saturdays during those months :mad::mad::(

    on another note I can't wait to see your bumper up and running Chris. I have been searching online for a black hawse fairlead to replace the smitty polished one on my winch coming in.

    Sounds like I need to mod my front shocks. Bought the spacers for increased travel which will give more ground clearance.

    Also, need to hit the junkyard for some S10 rear springs to mod these oem 3 leafs, again, to compliment the front and get more clearance.

    While I'm at it, guess the gusseted spindles should go on.

    This is starting to sound like some work...

    We are flexible, and worse case, we can't make it, but we will sure try.

    Agree the truck is becoming very capable. Just be careful, you are young...somehow if life runs true, a female will come along, at first she will be into the truck, but then, look out.

    I have been married to Jeanne for 29 years this week. Scared to death I'll forget her anniversary card.

    She does not know it yet, but if possible, I am going to see if David or Jason will let here ride shotgun in one of the pits. Need to get a bit less fear of the angles to climb out of her. Then I need to drive better.

    I may take up that offer, but really I want the wife to get an idea of how steep or tilted things can get before she needs to worry.

    My truck will not be near as capable as yours, so we will scrape before hitting those angles.

    Also, the DCLB is difficult on account of wheelbase, tuning radius and ground clearance. The added weight and stock gearing being 2wd are not the best either. But it is what it is, no plans to go 4wd at this point.

    After seeing the earlier model trucks, I would rather build one of those in 4wd. Those guys were killing it last year. Especially the climb behind the dirt mound...very impressive.
