Need a permit to purchase each pistol (background check/$55 fingerprinting /30 day wait).

Firearms ID card is needed to buy rifles and shotguns.

Sadly, many states are the same way in the northeast with varying degrees of suck that stand between you and a permit depending on which state you're in. Even after you get a permit, it's still no where near black and white with what you can own, how to purchase, etc. due to extremely confusing and sometimes contradictory laws and rules.

Too bad people in those states don't realize that once their gun rights are gone then all their other rights are gone.

Thus the 500 page updated book I just purchased. It will be out of date quickly I assume.

Nappen also offers a New Hampshire book on their laws http://www.evannappen.com/gun-law-books.html

Seems like NJ has a lot of strict gun laws... So how is the gun crime?

    I get it.

Not trying to turn this into a debate or get it locked so let's just drop it there and keep this a non-political thread.

Simply trying to help members stay out of jail.

In response to tardo leaving me neg per when I'm trying to help others out by providing factual information

03-11-2014 06:29 PM The Hunter That is where you are wrong... It is infact grandfathered in was purchased in florida. It was "pre ban" and therefore perfectly legal

Please reference the law that states it is legal in NJ to have a 17 round mag. after I specifically spelled out the exact law for you stating it is a felony in the 4th AND HAS NO EXCEPTIONS...ZERO....ZIP....NONE!!!. I am really starting to think you need mental help because you refuse to admit you're 100% wrong under any circumstances.

Tell you what.... call the cops and tell them you have a 17 round mag for a Glock and you can let me know how that works out for you when your meal ticket is in jail for the next 18 months.

I created this thread due to you spewing out bullshit gun law lies to our members that would get them thrown in jail so stop already. You have no clue and never will if you keep up with this ignorant bullheaded attitude.

I don't want this thread to get full of banter because it will get locked, but I have to comment once.

It must be hard to be that DA

One day your putting non-violent employed single mothers in jail for crossing state lines.

The next day your letting women get knocked out cold by Ray Rice on video.

Pretty bad depending on where you go. Funny thing, out strict gun laws don't seem to be bothering the criminals.

It's not new, it's not Mexico
Thank you for the write up.
California, Connecticut, DC, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, & New York have the most restrictive firearms laws in the country. Anybody traveling to or through those states would be well advised to become thoroughly familiar with those state laws and follow them to the letter. Especially those that live out west.

Please drop it. Thread will get locked. Not here to debate law just state the facts and help people wrongly screwed over by it.

Your welcome! A little bad info can have you in the slammer for years so I figured this was needed.

I have been sending at least 1 e-mail per day to the DA.

Here is some form's of contact for them: http://www.acpo.org/index.html

Now we just need to figure out how not to terrorize good citizens for almost a year strait for crossing imaginary lines in the sand.

I shall be using my rights in 2 months to do so when I vote.
