Oh I hear ya! I couldn't spend the money on a decent camera because of lack of use and the fact that I would drop it nonstop. Hahah

 

man you guys have the most epic adventures and take some great photos to boot! Wishing and hoping one day to join you! Now to sift through 30 more pages of photos without getting my heart rate up too high from the breathtaking scenery and Ooops photos!

 

Yea..it's a tough call. Hard to beat the price.

But I can find barely used 10-24s for 400-450..

Sorry buddy but this is definitely incorrect. The issue with montes kit lens is much more than a rattle. If it wont autofocus, bigger issues there. Mine is a that dust cover thing. Never, never a rattle or focus problems. The vignetting you saw was that dust cover in the field of view.

I have read that the 10-22 is not marketed as an L lens but it is in all respects. It is the only EF-S lens that meets "L" standards. This is more than build quality, it is also the glass elements as reflected in its F rating 3.5 wide open and 4.5 at the long end.

I stand by what I said about the 10-18. Remember, you always get what you pay for. This is especially true in lenses.

 

Actually my rattle is why it won't autofocus haha it get in the way of the motor....what ever is rattling..i should get it looked at..probably..

been eyeing 24-70s and 24-105s though on CL...
