    Why?

Clearly the child fell and hit his buttocks on the handrail.

The lawyer is saying it involves "using a switch" on his kid. If he whooped his kid with a switch then this is a little overkill. I haven't seen the rest of the story, just what came on the ESPN app. I got tore up with switches and hickories and belts wooden spoons and anything else they thought would teach me a lesson. No big deal.

Against AZ the Charger receivers looked like shit. #17 looked alright though. The cool thing about SD is they can show up and make it a good game. I live in Seattle and I would love to see the Bolts stick it to all these fair weather fans.

I think AP is fucked, personally. pulling his kids pants down, and beating him with a tree branch? thats fucked up, the kid was 4 years old. I think it's worse than Ray Rice, as it was on a defenseless kid, not a wife that was slapping you in the face. According to a report, it was all over his kid pushing his other kid off a video game motorcycle.... it's fucked up. he stuffed the kids moth with leaves, pulled his pants down, beat him with a tree branch so bad it cut and bruised him, and threatened to punch him in the face. That's fucking disgusting.

on the other hand, there is a football god, and he is a patriots fan. though i think pats would win either way...

Among the policy changes, which include blood testing for human-growth hormone, a positive test for amphetamines in the offseason will no longer fall under the performance-enhancement drugs category. Instead, a positive test for amphetamines in the offseason will drop into the substance-abuse policy, and first-time offenders aren't subject to game suspensions. The new policy will more than double the threshold for what would constitute a positive test for marijuana.
The league has yet to formally approve the changes, and there appear to be hurdles left, reports ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

You never got hit with a hickory? I used to get it all the time. They would make me go pick out which one they were using. Of course, I'd pick the thicker one that doesn't wrap around your leg when it hits. Bad move, because then they would end up picking their own anyway and give me a lick for knowingly picking the wrong one.
Pants down, hands on the wall, and if I tried to block it or move id get 2 or 3 extra licks.

Same thing with a belt. I'll do the same to my kids, too.

Meh, no different than any other year.

At first I saw the AP headline and thought man what a douche, but then I read the story and it sounds like a spanking, don't know the details. UFB. No discipline anymore. I was at the zoo with my brothers family last year, they had a sand box and some boy smacked a girl in the head with a shovel pretty hard. The parents tell the 3yrold, I want you to think about what you did and decide for yourself if that was right or wrong....kid goes back to the pit smacks another kid...no discipline. I would have had the shit beat out of me and not repeated the act. But that was growing up in the coldwar.

As the father of a 6 year old and 4 year old, AP should go to jail for a short time and should be removed from the NFL for at least the rest of this year. IMO, this is worse than the Ray Rice issue. Janay Rice can leave, she has a choice. A 4 year old child has no such choice.

I was hit, beaten as a kid by my stepfather. I was also spanked by my mother. There's a difference. A spanking can include a hand, a branch, a wooden paddle. A beating can include a hand, a branch or a wooden paddle. The difference is the mentality of the person doing to spanking or beating and the end result.

This is a 4 year old child. 4 year old children aren't old enough to understand what is happening. As evident by the child's remarks to police and the Dr. The child had leaves stuffed in his mouth to muffle the screams, and was told by AP that he would be punched in the face harder if he told anyone. A spanking is a lesson with teaching before, during and after. AP knew he had done wrong or he wouldn't have said that to his son. 4 year old kids don't make up stuff like that.

I'm not opposed to spanking and have swatted my son a few times. All it takes is one glance at these pictures and it is VERY clear to me that this was a beating, not a spanking.

These were taken over a week after the event..(Edited from a few days)

AP sent the son back to his mother in Minnesota after he visited, a week after the beating. The mom saw the injuries and took the boy to his Dr. The Dr called in a few other Dr's who all agreed the injuries were way out of line with a normal spanking.

They contacted the police who investigated and agreed with the Dr. The police in Minnesota called the police in Texas who also agreed. The police in Texas contacted the DA who also agreed and issued a warrant.

Correct, the boy told his mother that papa Peterson likes whoopings and has a separate room for them. He has a lot of belts and switches that he hits us with.

I agree with Luke, AP should do jail time, and should not be in the NFL for the rest of this year at the earliest. What a fucking piece of shit.

If true, I'd say he's most likely done for the year.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
I think he's out at least 6 games. And reading the articles, looks like AP does this to all of his kids, some get it worse. He even got him in the groin a few times. He said if he thought they were bad, he would have never sent the kid home until they were healed.

Did anybody catch what the NFL Sunday Countdown take was on AP? I'm curious to hear what KJ, CC, Ditka and TJ had to say. Did they think it was excessive?

They were pretty much all in agreement that it was excessive.

Not to make it sound worse...but let me put it to you this way.

The doctor reported that a four year old boy's scrotum was split.

Let that sink in a minute.
