What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I'm leaning toward MTRs. Want my back spacing and stance back. Trying up decide which wheels? Any ideas?

 

It is surprising how many customers cave to that approach of theirs. Kudos to you for standing up to them. Glad to hear its sorted out and was only a wheel balance issue.

 

Get some MT Bullet Holes or some Method Double standards?

 

I feel your pain Ben, I've had some dude at Discount once try and pull one over on me cause I was a girl. I also caused a scene

I eventually came pretty good friends with the manager there and they knew not to question me lol

 

I had all sorts of thoughts about picking up some cinderblocks at the nearest home improvement store, parking the truck on them in the parking lot and then taking off the wheels and rolling them into the shop to be balanced running through my head after reading about the shitfest.

Or maybe Toyo MTs

 

Toyos are super heavy. MTRs are loud and wear uneven making them louder over time.

Km2s are the best dd mt out ATM IMO.

MTRs are the best mt out for more dedicated trail trucks.

Toyos are great just heavy as hell.

 

What wheels should I go with

I am thinking about how to due this myself... Space is kinda limited but maybe a rubber cap with a 3" OD should work. Then just reach thru the deckplate to pull the plug, install deck plate and go

 

Just got back from a week of fishing. Spent six nights on my RTT and decided I better go out again for one last night of camping before my vacation is up.

Have you looked at the hankook MT's?

 

Another thought I just had is if you're using PVC pipe install a valve in line. Not sure how it would fit in there with limited space.

 

Think I'm gonna go with MT Sidebiters IIs and either KM2s or MTRs

 

I love my KM2s so I vote that. They aren't any noisier than my BFG ATs were. If you get snow in your area though, get them siped. I personally don't like the knew MTRs (which most people know by now ) as they have performed very poorly on most vehicles I've seen offroad in my experience. I miss the old ones as those were amazing.

Just noticed you currently have KM2s, so I guess you know the first am stuff haha

 

agreed^ not impressed with mtrs... wear too fast, not all that impressive offroad. only reason i dont have km2s is because i do ALOT of winter driving. so the duratrac serves my purposes very well.

my opinion, just try one and see if u like it. tires are different for everybody. selling used tires is like taking candy from a baby here.... not hard at all and for good money
