So after walking out of first dealer (Thankfully) went to the next dealer, that had the only other TRD/OR in stock, in about a 60 mile radius. My wife was already working deal with this dealer, while I was wasting time at dealer #1.

We get to this place at closing time, the GM made it real clear, asked us where we wanted to be, what for trade. Showed them figures from being d*cked around at dealer #1. In 10 min, he had a deal printed out, $2K off sticker (Not great but good, and I'm happy with it) and giving me what I needed for my PreRunner.

Here she is, it's a left over 2014, had 11 miles on the clock when I test drove it. Now has 90 miles :D. Wasn't my first or even second color choice, but I think I'm warming up to it. Other than that I LOVE THIS TRUCK.

Well I technically did same thing, traded my PreRunner with only 8,800 miles. I don't really need 4WD, other than getting some snow boarding in during the winter months, and not wanting to mess with the chain control.

What did you end up replacing yours with? Sorry if I missed that thread.

Silver is by far the easiest color to keep 'clean'.

Thanks, I feel like every vehicle I've owned has been either white or some sort of blend or silver/ gray. Was looking forward to the Blue Ribbon, but wife was giving me tons of grief. You know what they say, so I passed on that, but mostly due to the crappy deal.

    my build tread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/socal-no-shame-poser-build.513084/
I got my sport in socal fully loaded with premium sound nav, exhaust tip, offroad floormats, etc for 32000 out door with tax/license and thats even the longbed which is more. i traded in 2 cars one the dealer gave me more and the other carmax came in 4 thousand more than dealer offered. carmax took 1 hour to apprasie and sell my car check in hand i love them. my friends all seem to be paying 31000 out door for fully loaded nav and sound shortbeds in socal.

    none yet
Unless there is a NEED for the new truck, I'd wait for a few months and see if I can save a few thousand dollars. I know I'm cheap!

I'd just trade it since you only pay taxes on the difference between trade in and purchase. You might sell yours for a little more yourself but you will be paying full taxes on the purchase. Plus you have to deal with tire kickers. I've bought and sold many cars. do a cost analysis and see if selling it yourself is worth it.

Taxes vary from state to state. California doesn't give a tax credit on trade in. Full tax on purchase every time.

^They don't call it People's Republic of Kalifornia for nothin'

This makes a difference. Nationwide average time for a dealer to sell a MY2015 Tacomas is 5 days after they get it in. Average time for a MY2014 Tacoma is 16 days. The dealer would be more inclined to give a discount on MY2014.
