^ I'm hoping to find an Archangel tomorrow at the gun show. Did this today. Used a 6" long 5/16" grade 8 bolt. Just going to use thread locker instead of silver solder, that way I can remove the handle to readjust it when I do get a new stock.

May look ugly, but I love it. Especially with the 1" thick recoil pad.

I've had mine for 3 years now, paid $100 for it at a gun show in York, PA. Came with bayonet too. I've put about 400 rounds through it so far just for fun. Probably my most favorite gun to play with.

Looks pretty tame, did it actually reduce the recoil? I could have used that thing last weekend myself. A friend and I put about 50 rounds through the Mosin. Both of our shoulders show proof of the round count

Well, after putting this on, I actually liked shooting it more because my shoulder didn't hurt as much. As time went on and I started growing hair in my chest, I actually believe my shoulder has gotten used to the recoil. But this actually makes a huge difference. My only gripe, is that it has come off or loose after about 40-60 rounds. I was thinking about using some lock tite on the set screws. I'll try it out this weekend.

Cabelas had the mosins on sale for black Friday for $140 on the in store stock. I got my mosin for 188 at big 5. That's with a 10% discount because I was cool with the kid.

I get my ammo from cheaper than dirt, but I check this out for the cheapest ammo deals.

also, the last time I went to the range, I shot 100rds by myself within 40 mins. LOL

My shoulder is made of wood now! Didn't bruise, no pain either. The day after I first got my mosin out and shot it, I was a little baby about it haha. It is the 91/30, so not as much recoil as the M44, but tis a tamer beast now.

Wow. A mosin thread! I guess there are threads covering just about everything on TW so why not? I was never much of a gun guy, but when a friend of mine showed me the 91/30 carbine he bought at Big5 for $60 (this was about 15 years ago) I just thought, 'that's cool! For $60 I need one of those!' So I got one, became somewhat obsessed, and followed with a Finnish M39. Then I picked up an East German Makarov pistol to round out the commie arsenal.

Can you still get the shoebox-sized sardine cans of milsurp 7.62x54r? Those were fun

Yes you can. I know a guy willing to sell his 7.62x25 pistol to me, I just don't know how much he's willing to let it go for.

I have that stock but am using the optional 10 rnd magazines. That's why I didn't jump on these earlier.
