Did Toyota ever work out the issues with the 6 speed though? There seem to be a lot of issues with throw out bearings, at least there used to be. Toyota might have fixed it by now.

throw out bearing issue seems handled and if not urd has a fix, not gonna lie though 6-speed is far from a smooth shifter. strong fun and completely cool but its somewhat clunky also

    Twas TSB'd

The ones I've driven have been smooth.

My auto is getting old and tired... The trans has close to 170k I believe. Drain and fills aren't helping either.

Gonna get it appraised in a bit. I wish my bumper would fit a Tacoma!

Just looking at it. It would be cheaper than fixing everything on my truck.

Plus I got a new job last week! First day is today.

The Tacoma suspension was also TSB'd and look how well that worked out  Some of those TSB's aren't worth the paper their printed on.

I thought you got a remanufactured transmission when you submarined it?

    They offered me $7,500. LOLnope

And Rob hooked me up with a trans out of an 08 and it works well, but again, it's getting up there in mileage. Guess I'll just have to wait and see

Ouch! I figured it would have been at $10k but I guess if you're saying it has issues and it looks like it's an off roader, I can't say I'd offer a lot for it either. Last thing a dealership wants to inherit is a vehicle they either can't sell or would have to dump a ton of money into.

What else is wrong with it?

In my excitment over the weekend, I forgot to share my automotive experiences with you all. I had to service my wife's car, here's the list of tools required for the oil change:
    17mm wrench
    filter wrench
    24" breaker bar

The asshat at the dealership had the drain plug on so tight I had to use the breaker bar to free it up. The dealership got a piece of my mind through e-mail last night

Damn. What does she have for a car? If they torqued it down that tight I'm amazed they didn't strip the threads...
I saw that a LOT when I worked in a shop. Some meathead at Prompto or whatever overtightened the drain plug and mangled the threads, so we got stuck having to convince the customer that we weren't the reason we had to drill and retap their oil pan when all they were expecting was a $20 oil change.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
I saw some of that one. Packers looked like they were going to loose and I hate the Jets so bad I turned it for a bit. Glad to see the Packers get some life.

No that one was also 101" wide so they are side by side. I would think the clamshells pull pretty easy because they are so low. I didn't have problem pulling the v-nose even with my sled in the bed. My Car-Mate trailer is another thing though, still pulls fine but uphill on the highway you know it's there. It's steel, almost a flat front and it's tall (drive in-out).

It's a Honda Accord. I'm surprised nothing happened also. It threaded back in fine and sealed up. I drove it last night and checked again this morning, no leaks on the driveway.

I must have put mine on pretty tight last time I did the oil. Just gouged my hand on the front diff loosening the drain plug when it freed up. Time for me to invest in some mechanic's gloves.

Time for me to do the gear oils next. Seems the Redline bottles use a smaller than standard quart opening, so I'll be reusing one of the Royal Purple bottles. They seem to use the gallon size openings, perfect for the pump I bought. They also have the measurement on the back, which the Redline bottles don't. You'd think for an expensive gear oil, they'd come in better bottles.

Subaru offered me $13,500. Not too shabby! Unfortunately they've sold off most of the 14's and will be getting the 15's in within the next 6 weeks, so their lot is pretty much empty. They only had one impreza left and it was an auto.
