Ah. It was my understanding that federal time was day-for-day. I do know that some states do not have a parole program, and you do serve day-for-day there. As for your listing of state sentences, that is not always accurate. Good time and work time can be applied to have you released well before the 1/2 time mark. 3G, or Aggravated crimes require a longer minimum time than "standard" crimes.

 

I'm sure you could get tracked if you really really pissed someone off like Snowden but look at the silk road. There were tons of people who got away with moving massive amounts of drugs.

Got ya. I only knew about state time because I have a buddy who only did 2 years in on a 5 year sentence back in Texas. So I knew it was less than 1/2 time.
