Cool challenge! I've never done anything like this, so I'll have to play around.

Hahaha, I figured that was the case. Your ellipsis was a hint but you didn't use your sarcasm font, so how was I to know? :notsure:

I getcha. It was an awesome photograph, that's for sure!

    Yeah, man, where ya been?!

    Thank Kevin!

Congrat Nathen. Next time please PM me new challenge before posting no hard feelings and no rules broken. I just like to see it first if any changes are needed or if you or I have any questions.

    Regardless. Good challenge!

N00b attempt at light painting. Certainly nothing spectacular but better than nothing!

Couldn't think of anything better to do, but I was mainly just playing around with it. This was my first time doing any sort of light painting. It's pretty fun! I need to try putting the lights on strings at some point to get the circular effect.
    For now, my experiment: :p

Maybe we can extend this one another week? I've been too busy to get out and try a shot or two. I know I can't win my own challenge, but I'd like to give it a shot.

It is still Monday through Sunday.

We have three photos so that is enough to pick a winner. I'm sure someone will pick this challenge again sometime. That said, just cause it's not a challenge doesn't mean you can't try it. You can always post photos in the normal photo thread for feed back from a lot of people.

So hopefully Nathan will pick a winner soon and we will continue on as normal.

I'm going to have to give the win to Hernan. You really pulled of your name floating in the picture, and the overall composition with the night sky is great.

Josh, it looks like you've set your guitar on fire. If you could recreate that shot with someone playing the guitar that would be awesome.

Gotta love Pong Kevin, thanks for taking the time to try out the challenge.

That would be frickin' sweet! Someone's gotta do that sometime.
Congrats Hernan! Really like the stars and the scenery behind the light painting.

Well deserved win Hernan, nice shot!

I think I I had a good laser pointer I could have pulled that off. I enjoyed the challenge though. Was something I've never tried before and had fun attempting it.

I tried with a laser pointer and it was a little too thin. Maybe a laser through fog, but a little key chain single LED light seemed to work really well for me.

That'd be worth trying too. When i was looking at a basic tutorial for light trail photos the guy used a laser with some colored cellophane on the end which im sure helped disperse the light a bit.
