    Greetings.

I am looking for a tonneau for a short bed double cab 2014 taco.

I would prefer hard top that also locks the tailgate.

So far I found roll and lock m series. Any better options from your experience?

I have a Raider Longranger, which I believe is made by Leer. Has saved my tailgate on at least 6 separate occasions.

I'm going to be buying an Undercover Classic as well.

I currently have a soft cover, and now want something more secure and waterproof.

I never really liked the idea of a hard cover until recently. Always thought that it would be a pain to remove one if I had to haul something tall. After looking into the Undercover, they are light enough and easy enough to remove that I'm not worried about it. Not to mention, after owning my truck for a year, I think there has been 1 time I would have needed to remove the cover.

I have a roll and Lock. I'd say its good depending on what climate you live in and what you are using the bed for. The unit takes up some bed space and the lock freezes up in the winter, if neither of those things affects you then they are pretty good.

Can you remove the roll and lock if you need the back of the bed space? Is it easy to remove?

My area only freezes a few times a year. Most of the time of time I will be caring a few mountain bicycles on the weekends

I wouldn't say its "easy" to remove, its not built to be removable. That being said I took mine off this summer and it did't take too long. You basically lose 6 inches of space at the back but only for the top half of the bed. So if you have stuff that isn't very tall you can still use that space.

Mine came with a color matched undercover SE. My Chevy had a rolling one that I really liked. Still trying to determine of the hard top will work long term. It does provide tons of security and looks pretty nice.

You can buy a fold a cover directly from the manufacturer. I am thinking hard about getting it.
