Maxtrac Spindle Lift for 2nd Gen Prerunners

I don't know if you taped off the very top machined part (where the upper ball joint meets) but I would paint it if i were you. You'll prob be able to see a good portion of it when installed and it will be rusty in no time.

 

Ok yes i did so ill pull the tape and hit it. Thanks for the advice Rick. I cant wait to get the parts in my guest room on my truck.

 

Eibachs provide 1.6" lift and are a lot stiffer than stock.

I see you taped the bottom part where it connects to the (insert whatever you bolt spindles to)? What would happen if you painted that piece?

 

I painted everything on mine except inside where the bearing goes & had no problems. I didn't want any chance of rust.

 

Yeah you could prob paint everything and be ok, but I didnt paint the part where the hub goes into.

 

How do you paint the M a separate color? Very careful placement of tape?

 

I used blue painters tape & an exacto knife.

 

Thats purdy Spruce. I did my MT in white and just noticed that its starting to crack a little. Need to redo it i guess.

 

Thanks, I noticed yours were white at Hooters. Nam did his white also.
When we had that mod day at my house one of the guys had his Maxtracs powder coated white with the MT black, looked pretty cool especially since they matched his white taco.

 

Ahh I see. That looks great! I would love to paint mine like that, especially with my TRD center caps.

 

I don't have my picture handy, but I did mine in SWB using my SWB touch up paint. Didn't tape anything off, just took my time doing it. Wasn't difficult since they are raised.

 

Thanks, it's not hard & that would look good with your caps. I did mine red to go with my TRD badges on my grill & tailgate.

 

Yours do look good. I taped mine cause I painted them with a rattle can.

 

I have also considered TRD badging, but I'm an SR5 so I'm not crazy about the idea yet, it is on the bottom of a long list But it does look sweet. I don't know why it doesn't come like that.

 

It would be cool if they came with them but then again everyone with a TRD would have them & they wouldn't be as cool. Plus a set of 3 is only like $8 so it's a cheap mod.

 

Anyone know if you would need new UCAs if I got fox coilovers with my MaxTracs, and set the foxes to 0" of lift?

 

Painted the spindles but when i went to paint the logo I got crazy orange pealing going. Ive had the paint for a while but dang its ugly looking.

 

When I painted the red over the black it wrinkled pretty bad. I stripped the paint off the letters & then spray just red. I think if I would've let the black cure longer it would've been fine but I got impatient. Haha

 

It baked in my garage for over 24 hrs

 

You're right there, but like I said emblems are at the bottom right now. Partly because I can't decide if it looks better to have no emblems or black on black.

As for painting isn't there a writeup on it? Also, what about going over the MT with the desired accent color and then once it dries, cover the MT logo that you want to remain that color and paint everything else black?
