    Hi all,

New to the forum, did some searching and really only found info on frame rust. I have a different issue. I have an 06 black tacoma, bought brand new and cared for very well. As of 6 months ago no rust. Fast forward to today, i have almost no paint left on my roof. It is 95% rust. Toyota says its not their problem. I have had 3 different body shops tell me the original paint job was poorly done. Im not sure where to go from here. I guess my question is has anyone else gone through this and have any advice?

Looking at quotes from 600 to 1100 just to have the roof redone. Does that seem fair?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks
    Rt

My hood and roof on my 1st gen has faded clear coat on it. I got quoted by some guys I met through a mutual friend for $800. Includes materials, painting my plastics black, and polishing the whole truck to make it look even with the fresh paint on the hood and roof. And if it is due to poor paint application, I would contact Toyota directly if dealerships are not playing ball with you.
