I have an 07 sport so i didnt get a tow hook up front so while i was at harbor freight i picked this up its a perfect fit i was a little iffy wether or not it would fit but i couldnt pass it up for only 8 bucks it reminds me of the oe one i had on the front of my 95 4runner

Personally for safety purposes I would use a D-Ring shackle vs a hook. It is more secure and you do not have to worry about your strap slipping off. But a hook IS better than nothing.

The picture is a bit different from the actual thing it looks a lot thicker and the safety clip touches the hook itself I will post pics later today

So how is the weather down in Carcas Crispy? Been hot as blazes here in Dallas. Might be heading down your way in a month or so with the yaks for some fishing.

I wonder if those mount so they fit through the holes on the skid plate? The OEM tow hook does.

Do the new ones come with hooks? I'll be bummed if my sport doesn't have them

I prefer the hooks because my strap has loops on both ends. I like the one open and 1 closed on Tacoma's. My F150 had 2 closed and always wondered why. I put 2 similar hooks on rear of my '87 F150. Pulled out a Ford tractor that was buried. It took like 10 jerks and hooks held up fine. I bolted to frame with grade 5s. I had retain clips on mine.
