I have a 2014 DCSB off road with a Leer camper shell. The rear of my truck is sagging. I measure from center of the hub to fender and the back sits 1 inch lower. I think you call this the bro lean. Should a New truck with 7k miles sag this much in the rear with only a shell on it ? Thanks

That doesn't seem right, take it to the dealer and show them. I have a '13 TRD OR and don't have bro lean with a topper. The back dropped about an inch when I got my Snugtop but it's still higher than the front by about 1 1/2".

do you have the 3+1 leaf pack? 14's built after 10/14 should have the 3+1. if yours does not (or even if it does) and you have the driveline vibe, you can have the latest tsb performed which would replace the 2+1 with the 3+1 (or the latest 3+1 if yours already has it).

like stated trucks built before october that wernt a TRD SPORT or SR5 with tow package got the weak 2+1 leaf pack.

Get the driveline TSB done, and make sure they order the "firm ride" leaf pack which is a 3+1 leaf pack.

Just checked. Have 3+1 leaf pack in mine and haven't noticed any driveline vibration. Only rear sagging a bit... not sure if its a bug or a feature.

Look at your frame just above the rubber snubber, if it's shiny, take it back to the dealer and claim harsh ride.. they'll give you new rear Bilstiens and a 3+1 leaf pack.

The new leaf pack is not a fix all, I still bottomed on my 2006 TRD OffRoad after they were installed. I opted for the Firestone RideRites and never looked back. I too had a LEER cap, a 100R, With 4 adults in the truck it bottomed all of the time. My 2013 and 2014 with an even heavier LEER 100XL, even towing a boat, it has never bottomed out except on one trip. On one trip with my 2013, 4 adults, a whole back end full of gear, and a 16" boat on the back, it bottomed.

BTW.. since you have a LEER, be sure that you put protection across your tailgate where the cap door gasket rubs the paint. It will rub through. I removed my top plastic cap, installed heavy 2" black rubber tape, and reinstalled the top plastic cap.

How about when you next go the dealer you measure some of the trucks (top rear wheel fender edge or bumper to ground?) and see how it compares. Bring a friend or two to approximate the weight of your cap and have them sit on the tailgates and re-measure.

At least you'll have some baseline ....

I have a 14 trd sport dcsb. When I installed my leer cap it had the sagg. I have the 3+1 newer leafs.... I ended up getting the ride rite air bags, Love them for the sag plus my towing..

Could also add a leaf to fix the sag and also increase payload

I haul 400-600 lbs of swimming pool supplies & tools in my tool box every day. Never had a problem with my 2014, DC, 2.7 sagging. Been using my 2014, OR for work for two days with same weight (too early to tell) but not sagging either, in fact rear doesn't drop much at all with even just 300-400 lbs.

Not saying your lying but that's hard for me to believe your not squatting a bit in the rear with all that weight in a tacoma

First question is there a different for the rear suspension for off-road vs trd sport?

I will take a pic tomorrow for you, I would do it right now but it's dark out.

This was my '07, but this is how we pack these trucks daily. This is about 350-400 lbs +/-

    100_1440_aba3c43dccc81b2f01f8d080e592cc1cf0565c63.jpg

I know it's a 5-lug, but as you can see, same tuck with same load almost no squat.

Heres our '08, about 450 lbs +/- very little sag if any, and this is Pre-TSB leaf springs.

Once I put my leer cap on I saw that the truck sagged right away it bothered me sense. Plus I pull a boat some times and it got worst so I had to get the airbags so now the problem is fixed. I'm not sure how heavy the leer car is but i need a second set of hands to lift it up and it's pretty darn heavy but not much vs your 4-600lbs of supply.

Edit I just looked up and found the leer cap weight is about 170-190
