    Hello All,

I'm brand new to the forums. I've been a die hard Chevy person all my life, but finally made the leap to Toyota. I purchased an '09 tacoma double cab with the off road package. My only regret is I didn't make the leap sooner!!! I have a couple of odd questions though. I searched the forums, but didn't find anything. If this has been talked about...then I apologize.

OK, first off...the dash lights....are they supposed to be on all the time? With my truck, it seems like even if the headlights and running lights are off, the dash lights are on. Is this normal for Tacoma?

Secondly...the radio backlight seems to be a lot dimmer than the backlight for the odometer. Again, is this normal? In daylight, I can see the light to the odometer, but the light to the radio looks off. I know it's supposed to be slightly dimmer, but there seems to be a major difference between the two. It does light up at night, but again is nowhere near as bright as the odometer.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks everyone!!!!

Yes the dash lights are always on, as for the radio do you have a pic to see how dim it is? MIne is not too bright in the daytime.

Hmmm my '08 radio seems to match the rest of the dash. In the day I can't even tell it's backlit though, if it even is. I know the rest of the gauge cluster is however, just never paid attention to the radio.

    Congrats on the new ride!

I've noticed that I can't see shit on the radio because I'm wearing polarized sunglasses. Do you do too?

Hi everyone, here's a picture of what I'm talking about. you can see that the odometer backlight is much brighter than the radio backlight. I did have the headlights on as it was foggy out. The top of the picture makes it look very sunny out, but it wasn't.

    Thanks!
