Hey, new to the forums I'm 17 and just got my first truck a 2001 tacoma sr5 from my dad (i pitched in for an acura for him and i got his truck) i don't know much about car mechanics but i hope to learn a lot i do have experience with dirt bikes, quads, minibikes, small stuff. the tacoma has no modifications yet but heres my plans and hopes also fixes
    - fix the parking brake (snapped at the pivot bolt on the arm)
    - new belts (about as worn as you could get)
    - new leaf springs cuz the stock ones are shot not sure what to get though
    - lift it with bilstein *5100s
    - possibly 33's bfgoodrich a/t's
    - new bumpers (stock?)
    - maybe engine mods idk yet
    - tons more if i find the money

 howdy! I was 17 when I got my first Tacoma. You're on the right track with your mod plan. Don't worry the other stuff comes with time! You picked a great platform to learn how to wrench. My favorite part about toyota 4x4s is they are so straight forward and easy to work on.

What do you guys think of a set of bilstein 5100s in the front and all pro standard duty 3" lift leaf springs in the back?...

Welcome to TW :) 5100's are pretty common on here. If you want thoughts on how it rides, you'd have to seek out threads which review them. I have the full OME kit so I am not much help :smack:

Probably around $800 for now and I'd use it for a daily driver and off road mud, rock crawling (maybe) etc

Welcome!!! If you are really on a budget Rough Country makes a hockey puck lift that will get you by so you can save up some real cash and do it right. Buddy of mine has the set up and actually really likes it. It is his daily as well as some light off roading / trail riding.

Will the bilstein kit on Toytec fit an '01? And by hockey puck kit do you mean blocks? If so People say not to use blocks a lot so would I be better off saving up some money? Thanks for all the input
