I tried to update via computer over wifi and it said 9 hours, switched to hard wired and changed to 9 minutes. No problems on 5s and I am really liking it

I'm a lifetime android user thinking about switching to the iPhone 6plus. My main concern is the a8 processor. Dual core 1.4 and 1 GB of ram seams quite weak to power a 1080p screen. I'm comparing to the note 4 with a quad core 2.7 GHz processor. What do you apple aficionados think? Will the iPhone 6 be sluggish or is ios 8 perfectly optimized to make it run fast?

Took my less than 3 minutes to do. Thanks to fast college download speeds of course.

So far my only complaint is notifications not going away when I swipe up on the screen and I didn't like the prediction thing in iMessage

Here's a question that has probably already been answered. Why does my IPod close the browser anytime I try to look at the funny vids thread.

I wish I was back on campus for the dirty fast internet though. My roommates and I pay for "20 Mb/s" last speed test showed .754 Mb/s

You can swipe the predictive away as for the notifications not going away I don't have that problem.

I turned the predictive all the way off, and it's only Tapatalk notifications that stay all the others go away. I have to hit the home button for tapatalks to go away not sure why.

And I tested yesterday and we get 1.35 GB down and 1.2 GB up

It's hard to compare. It's kinda Apples and oranges. ;) But really, iOS is so streamlined that it doesn't require all the extra memory to run really smooth. If it needed more RAM, Apple would've included more RAM. The new chips and operating systems are geared towards very low power usage and efficiency.

My 5s took 30 minutes using iTunes. My wife's 5 took 5 minutes using iTunes. She initially tried to do an over the air update but was put in a waiting queue. No idea how long that would've taken just to get to the software download stage. Then the over the air download would've likely taken over an hour and possibly many hours. Both runs are running it smooth. I also downloaded my Yosemite beta for my MacAir. Bigger difference there than iOs 7 to 8.

I didn't even try to do the over air method because it needed 5.8 Gbs of room. And only having a 16 gig phone that wasn't going to happen

    You gots to hide them...

on your computer... Windows or Mac, does not matter.

    Open iTunes
    Click on the iTunes store
On the right hand side you will see the quick links section. CLICK purchased.
once you do that, you will see ALL your previous downloads.. apps. movies. ect.

Find the songs you don't want.

Click the little X when it appears while you hover over them.

(THIS WILL HIDE THEM ) YOU CANNOT delete any purchases you can hide them....

and in the future you can un-hide them if you want them back for any reason..

IF you see a little cloud next to the songs in your iphone. thats another story....

You would go into you iPhones Settings>iTunes and App store. >and turn off the Show all MUSIC part .. ..

this will then hide the media with the iCloud icon next to it.

Nope, everyone got it free. It's supposedly the most downloaded album on a release because of that. Just a bs ploy to get that title.

No , I mean I'm not the only one that didn't want it , apparently there's been a fairly big backlash about it

Same here U2 album hiding now.

Little slow the iOS 8 on my iPhone 5 but i rebooted after and seems to work better. Now would have to see how long this battery last.
