    Article in today's Dallas Morning News. 100,000 prospective buyers have priced online and there are 30,000 orders from dealers. GM is planning to add a 3rd shift at the plant. I wonder where the offset will come from? Maybe Tacoma, Fronteir, or full size?

    Why does anyone care what GM is doing?

    Why are there so many threads on GM and Chevy's Colorado?

    I do not get the interest.

    Toyota makes the best light truck and they are turds IMO. I couldn't imagine owning a truck that had more issues than a Tacoma appealing...but I guess some do.

    I'm interested in that I hope it will motivate Toyota to get their ass in gear.

    At this rate there could be a section on TW dedicated to just GM alone. Lots of threads for sure. The thing is there will always be those who are dedicated to GM lines when it comes to trucks. Just like Toyota has THEIR loyal following, Ford, Dodge....etc. Lots of people like things that are new. And I don't just mean a new year. People are drawn to the novelty of having the first of something. The thing is, not everyone out there likes the looks of the Tacoma. Not everyone likes the looks of the Frontier, or the Silverado..... you get the idea. Different people like different things. I always laugh a little when so many people say "I wouldn't own XXX brand because they have so many problems, and my Toyota doesn't!" And these are the same people who also sit on this forum and complain about frame rust, driveline vibration, differential vibration, check engine lights.... The list goes on and on.

    I do agree though that since we ARE on a Tacoma forum, the Colorado threads should all be combined into one, then hidden in the "off-subject" area where they all should be.

    exactly, if a 5000 lb Range Rover can get 23 mpg with 300+ hp and ft lbs of torgue and a Colorado has similar numbers why not a Tacoma.

    Okay, now I am getting a little miffed with all the hoopla over these new GM's and Chryslers so, I'm going to step out and say it. Hope you are not offended too much;

    Nobody on TW gives as shit about those vehicles.

    If you don't care, don't post. It's just that easy.

    I care because interested in all things diesel, and I'd really like to see Toyota give us another option for engines.

    Because the engine and trans are 10 years old. I'm sure the next offering will have much better MPGs.

    I'm interested in knowing what's going on the the mid-size truck market. Just because it's not a Tacoma doesn't mean i don't want to hear about it or learn something guys.

    The GM trucks do affect the Tacoma. Personally I would never buy another Chevy Vehicle again - Ever. But I like GM trying to put pressure on Toyota to up their game. It's about damn time.

    How many threads are there on TW about GM and Chrysler trucks? How long have those threads been out there? Can you not find what you are looking for without creating another thread? Doesn't seem to me you have much respect for TW.

    I'm interested and hope the trucks do well. I'm personally not married to any brand. I'm a fan of a good vehicle, which I think these will be. Anything that promotes competition ultimately pushes the competition to make better vehicles, or just throw in the towel. You can only play the "it's better because it's a Tacoma" card so long. You'll always have the loyalists that will just continue to buy the same vehicle over, but there's still a good part of the market that's open and will buy the vehicle they think is better.

    I can't really see myself going back to a midsize truck, but if I did as of right now the Canyon would probably get my money. Hoping Toyota puts real effort into the next gen Taco.

    And he doesn't have respect for TW because he started a thread on a different vehicle? LOL. Gimme a break. There are threads out there on those brands because they're both bringing new and/or innovative products to the market. People can hate on Chrysler, but no other truck on the market can tow over 9k and get 28mpg highway.
