Need to pick your guys' brains here for a minute. Best way to mount a spare tire flat/horizontally/longitudinally?

A few options off the top of my head...

    - 'Y' ratchet strap

    - bolt on with lug nuts

    - T handle down the center

Which one is more reliable/easier to deal with? Any one of them better at mounting different tire sizes?

Flat with a "y" ratchet strap is the most secure for offroading. With bolts is the best if your worried about it getting stolen. Only mount them upright if your doing 2 side by side. Thats just my opinion though.

    Agree with you!

I had mine mounted with a Y-strap, used the oem bed tie downs and added another one front center.

What do you guys recommend for a tubing notcher? Nothing to big and industrial but something well built for small projects?

I've had the Y strap and the T handle now, and much prefer the T.

I've had mine laid flat with a T handle for a few years. I have been very happy with this setup. I also have an adapter I can add to the middle to double stack spares when the situation calls for it. Probably not the best looking way to do it, but I can also remove the spare and still have some bedspace when needed.

Sorry best recent pic I can find.

This one lasted for about 100 joints before the bushing wore out. Obviously there are better choices out there, but it's hard to beat on a budget build.
