im putting in the DAKAR leaf pack as we speak.

Am I supposed to re-use that shackle thing or whatever it is thats on the old leaf pack?

here's a picture of the old vs new that someone else took...on the right of the picture...the old leafs have that thing on the end...do I put it on the dakars or does it get removed?

What else would you use? Also make sure the "+" is on drivers side if both have them then the ones with more arch goes on heavier side...I know from experience :)

Order new UCA bolts and when removing the old bolts, back them out about 1" and cut the head off of them to remove. When you install the new ones, install them from the back instead of the front. Doing it this way will make it so you don't have to bend your pinch/body welds when removing and installing the bolts.....and it is super easy. I was able to install my UCAs using this method in barely over an hour.

If youre doing extended brake lines I would start soaking the point where the softline meets the hardline in pb blaster right now.

Fiend13 ain't kidding, I was totally shocked at how easy it was. I've been wrenching on cars/trucks since I was a kid and fully expected this to be a complete PITA.

Also, get yourself a mechanical ball-joint separator, forgot to mention that earlier. It will help tremendously as well.

While I do agree that the assembly will go easier that way, I always suggest against doing that. The reason the bolt goes in from the front is so that in the RARE but possible chance that the nut happens to back out and fall off, the bolt will still be held in place by angle and gravity. If you slip in the bolt from the BACK, and the nut comes off, the bolt can slip out the back, and your control arm can fall off. Not good.

Please don't put it in backwards, spend the time do it right, I did t need a ball joint seperator just unrighteousness it leave the nut on smack the knuckle a few times and its free.
