A little part of me wishes I went with Pyrite or White. I remember when I went to the dealership for my 2012 I ended up checking out a Pyrite because they didn't have any MGM on the lot and loved it. I always wanted a MGM so went for that instead. Overall I'm pretty happy with MGM.

I like my MGM.... when its clean! Color tends to show dirt, dust and scratch pretty easily.

The best looking color , when its cleaned and waxed, has to be BLACK in my opinion. Nothing looks better then that. That being said, I'm too damn lazy to own a black truck!

Also, not sure if its because I'm getting older, but I can find something to like about any color offered on the Tacoma.

Actually if you chase down my build/restoration thread you will find the details. I did all the work myself. Material cost was around $500. That includes primer, paint, clear coat, sand paper, tape, masking paper, etc.

Not for me, I love white cars and trucks. I really wanted green on my 2013, it's a beautiful color. BUT, when it came time to place my order for exactly what I wanted I went with white since I figured in the long term it'd be less maintenance, better looking in regards to chips and dents/scratches, etc,.

Love white, glad it's nice and bright white.

White isn't a BAD color to me (Other than white on a Tacoma is a single stage paint) but I just don't care for it. There is no character to white. It makes me instantly think "company vehicle"

When I got my truck, I was 50/50 on white or MGM. The best deal I found happend to be a white one, so I went with that. I still love it, although I would have been just as happy with MGM. I wanted dark blue originally, but my year is one of a couple where they had no dark blue option.

I love having a Black truck. Wanted Silver and still love the new 2014-25 silver color. No dirt roads for me and i park in a garage. So it stays pretty clean.

That's what the salesman tried to say, but fuck him he's not owning it for the next 10+ years.

Don't mind single stage, either, I am no stranger to automotive painting and maintenance even though I'm absent minded at times like forgetting completely about clay bars for mineral deposits on my glass/paint. I keep it clean and waxed.

Unrelated, Bama, but I just now noticed your USMC avatar. Thanks for your service!!

It's funny... I have a silver 2004 STI and hate the color. It's nice and maintenance free but I've wanted a Java Black Pearl (black with gold flake) or a World Rally Blue and never found one in my price range.... Silver has grown on me though. I still don't like it though and would buy any other color if I had the chance.

On my taco I have Spruce Mica. Being a dark color it does show scratches really well, but I'm in love with this color and I wouldn't change it at all. I feel like it's a color that will age very well on a truck as long as it has some minor detail work to keep the scratches from being too obvious.

Sort of, I've got Sky Silver Met, and it looks great on my '14 TRD/OR but I really wanted another white one. They had an SR5/LB with Entune & Nav in white, but it didn't have JBL (once you've had it, it's hard not to have it) on top of that TW had me thinking I really need to have the OR pkg, when the reality is the standard 4x4 is more than I will ever use.

I'm not rock crawling this $35k truck anyway. I like my Sky Silver, but it's one of those colors that's not quite silver, but not dark enough to be gray. I guess from one aspect, I've had a few older folks comment "That color looks real rich on that truck"

Oh well. Guess it just feels weird having a color, when almost ever vehicle I've owned was white. Truthfully I was really feeling the Blue Ribbon TRD/OR I drove first, but the wife who's blessing I needed to swap trucks so soon, hated Blue Ribbon.

I've really never paid much attention to color as every time I've bought a Toyota pickup I just picked the one with the price or features I wanted regardless of color.

My first Toyota pickup was red because it was the only one I could afford at the time. I didn't like the color much because people kept running into me. My next truck was dark gray and it was my favorite color but I didn't pick it for the color, it was just the only 4x4 on the lot that I could afford. The next two were silver because that's what the dealership had. I don't mind silver much as it looks good even when dusty and is cooler than darker colors in the summer.

Were I to have my choice of colors, I'd probably pick this one (do they come in it?)

when i was looking for mine i was in a price minded stage, had to have 4 doors and be a tacoma was about the only 2 must other than not being desert sand mica or green (i used to have a thing against green trucks but i might could make myself drive a spruce mica if it came down to it, and pyrite mica, not sure what color it is but sometimes looks kinda green, and it might be my favorite color actually) but the two i had it narrowed down too was my impulse red and a radiant red, impulse was $1000 less and i like it better. at the end of the day tho, black makes everything look good. My Tacoma ('04) is lunar mist metallic (silver). I purchased used and was more concerned about features (4 door, 4wd) and condition than color. The one and only color I would not be able to own is gold- something about it just rubs me wrong. Now Pyrite Mica, I love that color, even if some consider it a "cousin" of gold, but that's just me.

I didn't buy my truck because it was Barcelona Red Metallic, but it didn't hurt. I like the color. After a wash, some people notice it.

    That looks like a really bad Spruce Mica render... It looks like that up-close, but overall looks better at a distance and very different in the sun vs shade.... see example pics below;

    sun, freshly washed
    [IMG]

shade, with a poor camera, but overall it's accurate
    [IMG]

up-close (and dirty) looks much more like that render than anything else I've seen (obviously damaged also, insurance pic...)

Not one regret about the color choice. I love white cars/trucks/motorcycles.

I've had blue, black and silver. Give me silver every time.
Sky silver is pretty light, but a good coat of Meguiars NXT helps darker it a tad. I was thinking about a more gunmetal color, but the dealership had silver ready to go.
