So after 3 weeks of b.s from toyota and back orders and other excuses i have my truck back.
A few months back manwithoutaplan had a meet. I noticed a ping in the rear end when switching directions as in momentum. A few members suggested a few things and all where fine.
In the end they replaced my headlights for that T.S.B, said my high rpm was due to smog, and my noise even though they replaced the springs from 2-3 to 3-4 the noise still exists which did not when i bought it.
I still love my truck, just losing faith in testing and craftsmanship. they are going to race Pro Series Tundras in the Baja 1000 or whatever it is and that's how they should make all of their trucks Not all the suspension and stuff just the craftsmanship behind it.

Meh. Toyota trucks are durable but not necessarily refined.

Lots of Koolaid. Maybe you drank too much?

Toyota is largely good and dependable, but they're far from perfect. Too many expect BECAUSE TOYOTA to be some gateway to Eden. Not the case and never will be.

Still a man made product all man made stuff can and will break. Toyota is by far one of the better manufactures out there.

I'm still not even sure what I just read, but whatever I guess? I've had six of these 2nd gen trucks and I don't share the Op's sentiments.

Agreed OP. I have a German made car that is 10 years older than my Tacoma that makes my 2013 Tacoma look sub standard. I bought my truck new and have been less than pleased...btw its for sale 2013 DCLB Sport with 16000 miles. Asking 30k but its worth more...let me know

My 1987 Benz was nicer than my 2013 Tacoma, but that's a shitty comparison.

Ok I will play, my $52K 2013 Ford F-150, FX4, EcoBoost with Max Tow pkg was nicer than my '14 Tacoma, Double Cab, TRD-Off Road in almost every category.

But I can tell you my $35K Tacoma is built way better than that truck was. Definitely miss the 3.5 EcoBoost, but don't miss monthly visits to the service dept.

That was MSRP, there was $12K of incentive on the hood when I purchased it. The rule of thumb when buying a domestic full size, is take the MSRP, and automatically deduct $10K off the sticker.
