    If you have the parts and supply the beer then I'm sure there will be TW members in your area who would be happy to help you

    I did this only because I didn't have time. But much better than paying shop markup prices

    They will allow you to bring your own parts, but labor goes from $85 to $110. So about $170 more.

    Anyone know after I get 2.5" lift if I could run these wheels?

    16 x 8, (which would be 1/2" wider than stock)
    Backspace=4.5
    Hub Centric = NO
    Offset = 0mm (stock wheels per my research says they are +30mm)

    If so what is max tire size and how far will they stick out? I'm looking for an offset that will make the wheels flush to the fenders or stick out about 1/4" or so. Nothing too extreme.

    You have a choice of 265 or 285 tires, 285's will most likely rub unless,you stay on pavement. I'd stick with 265 and with that backspacing they should be even.

    Before you go dropping money on a toytec kit, have you look at the Maxxtrac spindle kit? Gives you 4" of lift with your stock suspension. Or you can spend like $150 more and get bilstein shocks with the kit. That way you'll be able to 33's easily with little trimming. Hell, you'd probably even be able to run 35's. Just a suggestion

    Good point....if he's 2WD then look into the Maxxtrac's. If your 4x4, then completely ignore what I said and carry on :p

    I have the same wheel dimensions as you just descibed. I put a 265/75/16 Duratrac tires on mine. No issues. The taller tires will also give a bit of lift. Just with tires I gained about 3/4 inch over stock. They stick out ever so slightly compared to the stock wheels and tires. It would depend on the the type of tire you get as well. A street tire probably won't stick out as much as a MT tire.

    As everyone has mentioned, do this yourself or with a cabable buddy. You'll save quite a bit of money. I would also say that if you mention TacomaWorld to most of these vendors they will work with you on price.

    It's 4x4 Sport DC LB and I can't go over 3" per my warranty. Most driving is highway. I'll do the occasional trail, beach driving, and snow when we go to visit the in-laws in Northern PA during Thanksgiving and Christmas. I've always liked A/T tires. Best of both worlds in my opinion and is what I always ran on my 98 Taco. I haven't really given much thought into tire brand. I'm just trying to get a plan together. The stock dunlops look terrible to me. I know they're good for highway and the ride is very quiet and smooth. I just can't stand the way they look. I even want to go from 17" to 16" wheel, because I want the look of having more rubber. Think it might look a little more aggressive/offroad. Also, hopefully when I go on the beach it will allow me to air down more and gain more footprint.
