TRD Sport springs/shocks on my TRD offroad?

Those parts are interchangeable, right? Thinking of getting sport springs, since I do NO offroading in my TRD offroad!

 

But if I only do city/highway driving, I don't want them stiff, right?

 

No, the softer coils will give a smoother ride. Didn't know the coils were different. O/R's are probably stiffer to better handle the bumpy, uneven offroad terrain

 

so then I do want the sport springs? right? i'm so confused. lol

 

sport= same exact as SR5 model coils "linear"
Offroad= "progressive"

 

Yes. If this truck is to only be driven on-road only then yes, go with the sport coils

 

is there a difference between the 05 TRD OR shocks and the '13 TRD Sport shocks? Dealer said they would swap when my frame gets replaced, but he said to make sure they were interchangeable.
I found a guy selling his '13 TRD Sport shocks and springs. Was gonna buy them and have them installed.

Between 05 O/R coils and 13 Sport coils? I imagine the sport coils being the same as all 05 and newer - linear, like said above. Still softer than the O/R coils

 

no, I know the coils are different and work, but the shocks? They are the same, and interchangeable between the 05 and a '13, right? Meaning the shocks off a '13 will work fine on my 05?

 

Oh, yeah they're the same bilsteins, not sure how they are compared to the 5100's though. The 5100's may be a smoother ride and you can adjust them so the truck sits level and not higher in the rear like it does with stock shocks. Just a suggestion.

 

ah. Ok. And yeah, I'm debating between the factory bilsteins, and 5100's. just can't make up my mind.

 

Night and day difference if you choose the 5100 over the factory blisteins. Get the 5100 since you'll have the suspension apart which by the way allows you to level the truck if you wanted to.

 

5100s set at 0" will be a better ride from what I read on tw. However if you raise it at all (.85" or 1.75") it will ride stiff and that is what you are looking to avoid. If I may ask, what made you choose the TRD OR?

However the 5100s will run you more and I'd only buy them new. 13 sport shocks and coils will still ride plenty smooth though.

 

I ended up ordering the 5100 package from downsouthmotorsports. I'm also picking up some sport springs from a fellow member here. Should be happy with that combo.

 

So here's a quick question. Since I got 5100's and sport springs, should I try to find some sport leafs too? Or will my ride be smoother enough?

 

Get a progressive aal for a plush ride.

I assume it should be. I HOPE it's more comfortable on road, otherwise I will feel I wasted the money on the 5100's. Should know in the next couple of weeks.
