You're doing it wrong. There are valid gripes about the AR, ease of cleaning isn't one of them. Especially compares to an M1A

Might be time to look into a FAL. They were designed to run dry but are pretty easy to keep clean. Uses a piston system so no dumping of the gases into the chamber area. Being chosen as the main battle rifle for 90 countries means it is a good rifle to own. Stay away from anything FAL made in India, they stole the FAL and just copied it.

It's funny, I thought that was sarcastic at first. Then I realized you were serious when I got to the end.

I hope you and your m1a are very happy together. They are a joy to shoot...you'll learn the rest on your own.

Here are a couple uppers that headed out the doors to their new owners yesterday. They range from economical to several bells and whistles. However they are all guaranteed sub MOA.

I picked up my 10.5" build today and it ran awesome. My buddy who built it had a Primary Arms optic on it for testing only because I'm going with fixed or flip up sights. I am leaning toward the DD set but was wanting some more options before ordering a set. I would like to stay around $100-$150

Nice collection. What optics are you using on the two in the center? I'm in the market for a 1-4x20. Still doing my research.

One on the black rifle is a Swaroski z6i 1-6. The other is a Burris MTAC 1-4. Both ends of the price spectrum.

Anyone built or bought an iron-sighted 300 BLK? I'm considering building one as a dedicated supersonic carbine as a general-use farm/truck/HD gun. I don't see a lot of options for a simple M4-style 300 BLK with a pinned A2 front sight though.
