Does anyone use any kind of stabilizer on the truck when the tent is deployed, to combat the slight rocking when moving around inside? It doesn't bother me that much, but seems like it would be a good idea.

Like an RV stabilizer... well, not exactly this, but you get the idea.

My lift keeps it stable. But I can see if you don't have the stiffer springs it would be an issue. Those could work, I wonder if a cheap set of jack stands would help your issue.

I run the OME lift with Dakars, so fairly stiff.

Yeah I don't know I don't know what it's like over the bed of a Tacoma. I have it on the roof of my runner, with the stiffest springs you can put on it. You would almost have to go with the rv type jack. Or just snag another bottle jack and use those.

ok so my truck doesn't exactly match the "brown santa" but it's kinda brown and I was playing santa today. Delivering another Tepui Tent to a customer. The Kukenam couldn't fit much tighter in the bed of my truck. :)

I spent 2 weeks camping in my Tepui Kukenam. It sits on a BAMF rack.

Sooo, I JUST found this thread, and I kinda feel left out. So here's my shinanagans.

The truck while out wheeling on the Whipsaw in BC, Canada.

My wife does a fair amount of cycling, on our longer trips we carry bikes with us. I added bike mounts that attach to the RTT rach which carry the bike on the bed side beside the tent.

Tent set up while out in Crowsnest Pass in Alberta, Canada.

My tent rack mounts to my headache rack so that I have quick and easy installation and takeoff.

Can I be added to the list now?

Has anyone with a second gen had the weight of their RTT and rack crush their bed rail caps?

Don't you have a TJM tent? Get me the interior measurements and I'll find you one that will fit.

It's not the weight, it's when the truck flexes the bed flexes and the rigid bed rack crushes the bed rail cap because it doesn't twist with the bed.

I haven't had it happen to me yet but I've seen it happen. Psutaco85 had it happen.

That makes sense. I ask because of a thread here on TW addressing the issue of crushed bedsides from excess weight. While i have a hard time seeing how a couple hundred pounds would be an issue, i just wanted to be sure as i am planning to pick one of these up.
