    this is how toyota qouted this...

    "Update to Load carrying capacity modification(addendum)label)

    they send me this yellow label so i can stick it on the side of the door saying...
    what we told consumers is a lie... so here we sent this bring yellow sticker saying... we have reduced the load capacity by 5lbs so you will not sue us!

    thank you come again!

    Tacoma sure has disappointed me today... by 5 lbs that is... or 2 KGS!

    It's related to a Federal Recall. I don't know if the Feds are just cracking down on Toyota in particular or what the deal is. Do a search for the recall and you can read who is affected. The recall is vague on the issue though, as it says it is related to "rims and tires."

    What a fuckin joke, they send out a sticker with a few pounds reduction to meet the safety requirements of the statement "INCORRECT LOAD CARRYING CAPACITY MODIFICATION LABELS COULD RESULT IN THE VEHICLE BEING OVERLOADED, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

    If a few lbs is going to make a difference between crashing or not then they have a much bigger problem with the design of the vehicle.

    I wonder if they took into account the 3/10 of an ounce the sticker weighs too :rolleyes:
