Disclaimer: I do not know this area at all, so I'll be figuring out navigation as we go. I do have a good National Geographic map that covers the whole area though, so I should be alright.

 

Get high this weekend if you can, may be the last opportunity before winter starts to set in.

If the storm during the last weekend of September comes through as advertised, snow levels could fall down to 10,000 or so, bringing flakes to many ski areas. I'm concerned that wind from the storm could strip the golden aspen leaves from their branches, but if some of them manage to hang on, there could be beautiful views during the last few days of September with snow on the peaks and golden trees at mid slope.

Are you going to hit the glacier too? I had a crazy October backpacking trip up there a few years ago involving snow, whiskey and a moose.

Me an about 9 guys with FJs from the fjforum are heading into moab from boulder from the 9-12th were gonna camp and offroad and see what kind of trouble we can get into along the way haha. Ive done some post for this trip but nobody seems to respond

we're looking at the swell to explore. small group. unique shit. not crazy wheeling.

 

I might be in for this, gotta a party to go to tomorrow night, never know, could be hammered, could not be. I assume my DCLB would make it, and I just got my rock sliders on today!

 

We will be exploring also and so we wont be doing crazy ass wheeling plus i have a really mild build so im not going to tackle really heavy stuff. Mojave Madman replied on one of my post and he said he might come he has a mild build 3rd gen 4runner.
