One of my wife's classmates finished her doctorate at the age of 23 and is likely making a lot more than 50K per year starting out. Though she did meet his criteria but just barely. Had he picked say 25 she wouldn't have.

 

I was making more than that at 20. Working 60 hour weeks for a construction company.

Best friend was making twice as much as me at 20, working in the oil industry...
