Does your CB Radio get decent reception with the antenna mounted in that location on near the tailgate? I was considering this same thing with a fiberglass whip or 102 stainless but wasn't sure if there would be good surface there to bounce signal, id mount it up behind the cab since I don't have my canopy yet but then my truck looks like an RC car.

I like the location fine, and it gets good reception from what I can tell. It is a bit overkill... Prolly gonna step down to a 3ft Wilson flex. Also I have an order for BAMF antenna mount, the one I have sucks and loosens up all the time :) if you want killer range out of your radio, get a ham, otherwise a short antenna setup and cheap radio will be adequate for wheeling. People (that you want to talk to) rarely just chat on cb :)

Awesome thank you. My intent is to use it for trail outings in the future and to listen in on traffic issues from the truckers when I get caught in my commuting traffic.

I thought the same thing but I don't hear squat when in traffic. But I'm in a city so maybe not so many truckers and bypass routes.

Our highways up here are always dominated by trucks when gridlocked, I had a CB setup in my old Chevy and it was always nice to hear what was going on bounced back to us, and then of course the dirty ol trucker talk is sometimes quite entertaining.

That's pretty slick! Hey Nick, (mademan925) do you ever hear chatter on the cb from truckers up in your area?

Yep. Always. They have crazy convos. It's better than the radio talk shows sometimes

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Looks awesome yeah i figured that tire would be a pain to mount! The good thing is its removable so we can figure out somthing else to bolt on that mount.
