tundra calipers on tacoma rotors

    Front long travel custom: king 10" CO, solid lowers, fabbed spindle, heimed everything ect. Rear still in progress, waiting to be put on: bilstein 9100s, T100 axle. Stock 3.4 engine, 4.30 gears.
    anyone know if tundra calipers and pads would fit on stock rotors?

    my spindle won't let me run any thicker of a rotor and tundra rotors are the same in every way but thickness. here is a link to the specs. Is there any obvious reasons it would not work? like the caliper wont close enough or something?

    As far as I know, if you upgrade to the tundra caliper, you're going to have to upgrade to the tundra rotor.

    As mention above you would need to upgrade both rotors and calipers.

    Ok but why? Yes it's thicker, but if it fits the only difference is how long it will last

    Can anyone with tundra brakes test to see if it fits?

    Larger surface area of pad contacting the rotor but if the diameters are the same why is thickness an issue?

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
    At best, the entire pad wont be in contact with the smaller rotor and that can be a problem.

    Rigid sr10inch, rigid duallys on cbi pillar mounts, bamf sliders, Jason cyber camper shell. 5100s at 1.75, wheelers aal 1.5 inch.
    go to advance or auto zone and buy the cheapest version of the tundra brakes (caliper and rotor) and bolt it up, no need to bleed the brakes and such but you will be able to check for clearance issues and if you find it doesnt work, return them. at worst you will get store credit and im sure one side cant be more than 50-75 bucks.

    If the caliper is able to press it out far enough and both a realitivly flat wouldn't it wear down evenly and be ok?

    Icouldn't just test for figment issues if the above was a problem.

    And other guys above its for a first gen...

    Tundra rotors are bigger diameter and thicker. It won't work. Don't even try. You will kill someone.

    They are not bigger in diameter. I will try if i figure out it it will work.

    Read the original post, it contains a link which you can click, this leads to a page with information, read the information on the rotors and tell me a real reason why It can't work.

    Ok well if you guys say the diameter is different is the link I posted wrong?

    If so than of course it won't go well and I wont try, didn't realize it was a 4 runner

    I have tundra brakes. I did the swap for the larger components because the components are larger. I saw with my own eyes.

    And you don't have the same size rotors as a 4runner. The 4runner ones are bigger than tacoma, the tundra ones are bigger than both. I've compared all 3 rotors side by side personally.
