He's okay and truck is alright, but I want to now if the driver knew it was 100% their fault for not paying attention

Yep, I'm good. I didn't even think to take pictures at the time. My truck isn't bad, just a few dents. Frame and everything is all good, I'll take some pictures tomorrow.

Yeah, he knew. He said sorry a bunch of times and admitted he was at fault. I had the video evidence to show he was too, so I wasn't too worried about it haha.

He was young, 16 years old with his lady friend in the car.

He said he was looking away at the cemetery for "just a few seconds" but who really knows. He was with another girl in the car (who his mom said he wasn't suppose to pick up). His mom was pretty mad but they both kept telling me sorry. I was like, "it's alright, my truck can be fixed. I'm just glad no one was hurt". If he hadn't hit his brakes and I hadn't started to go after I heard the screech it could've turned out A LOT worse.

I heard the screeching and instantly tried to move out of the way. The little ol' 4cyl didn't move quick enough ... (insert 4cyl joke here) haha.

    Glad everything's OK Sam
Gonna start looking at dash cams soon.

This morning we rolled up on a RV in the median, blew the drivers front tire and took it mud riding, went 2-300 yards before it came to a stop.

How do you save your recording if something happens? Review says it doesn't have a "lock button" to lock a certain recording so it wont be overwritten

Most continuously record. Something happen, just turn it off. Hopefully something doesn't happen again when it's off... Haha

Get a dash cam! Can't recommend one enough. It would have saved my ass tonight if the guy had been like "he slammed on his brakes" or tried to pull something like that.

I remembered I had the dash cam a few minutes after it happened, I have a 16gb card and it records a TON of time. You can lock files after but if anything major does happen, you'll have plenty of time to get home and grab the files on your computer. Or like me, when I was sitting there, I unplugged the camera and just drove home without it recording because I was only 2 minutes from home.

Yep, records over the oldest file it can find once the memory card is full.

That's what I figured, if I got it I'd keep an extra card in the glove box for if something happened.

I am gonna look into a back up camera/dash cam combo (Replacement mirror) though

On long trips I'll use my GoPro to record anything that happens.

I told the cop that I'll be buying one that faces backwards haha.

That would work, but I would honestly just spend the $70. Like I said, if that guy had tried to pin it on me (which he didn't...he admitted fault right away) I would have pulled out my footage. Even just having it for the Facebook lawls is worth it :)

I should clarify that I'll buy the same one and just have the two cameras running all the time.
