Dude, this happened to one of mine. Zip ties ftw! Lol. I just got it fixed and added a little extra to both sides. Do u think the skid is to heavy? Either way, it won't be coming undone now

Lol, just giving ya shit brotha! the whole bottom of the silver bullet is protected by RAT! skids have held up great

 

The Hankook MTs are 33.6x11.6...close enough to 34's

There are a couple 295/70/17 which are pretty much a middle 33".

Or just get 34x10.5 LTBs, come in 15", 16", and 17" flavor.

Depends where you live. Out here your lucky to see a gutted shell for that price. Even the biggest POS 85's go for 4-6k

When I inspected the brackets, there was barely even a tack weld holding them to the frame. The mount isn't big enough to get a good solid weld on it. I'm going to weld on my own mounts I guess or bolt though the cross member.

 

A few pics from the obstacle course thing this weekend. It was fun. My long wheelbase had me scraping/banging skids a lot.

After beating on them hard, no mechanical parts took any damage since the skids were there to protect. I don't care if the skid got dented since my transfer case is still hanging there.



I even hit the transfer case skid mounting flange on both sides and didn't do anything to them.



I got hung up on those "easter eggs" in one of the pics up top, and couldn't get my transmission to shift into reverse or 1st at all. It seemed like it was binding between gears so I had to get pulled off to relieve the driveline pressure. After that my clutch smoked quite a bit hitting the eggs again, and now it grabs at the very top of the clutch pedal, instead of toward the floor. It doesn't slip though and seems to grab just as firm, but it releases way later than before. I'm a little worried it's just going to go one day soon. Less than 10k miles on it.

 

Same with mine...sorry ass welds from Toyota...now I feel bad for my buddy who did the fix..Lol...he said it was a bitch, but he got-er-dun
