So I've done plasti dip to all of my emblems as well as the front emblem grill and am having issues with tiny pieces coming off.

So my question is…would it look strange if I just plasti dip my front toyota emblem and leave all of the side and back ones chrome?

Please no smartass comments….I just want to know if it would look strange.

Do it and take it off if it looks weird.

Are you not doing enough coats? Even, multiple coats is the key to plastidipping.
The more coats = easier it will be to peel off come time to do so.

Light coats = cluster fuck of annoyance to remove.

edit** - Nah, it will look fine. Go for it!

Yes. If you have to use plastidip, use a shitload of it.

What if I have small chips? Do I have to peel everything off or can I just put an extra layer in an effort to cover it up?

Use a microfiber rag, should get it up with a little bit of effort

I've soaked a wheel in WD40 and used 2700 PSI pressure washer and still have plastidip in spots.

Not sure how YouTube WD40 works, but WD40 made the problem worse for me.

I've plastiderped my emblems, and wheels on another vehicle. Many light coats do the trick. I think I did 6-7 light coats. If you get chips, wipe it down with water, wipe off the excess water, and spray right over it. Don't do real heavy coats and rush it. It'll look like turds.

Didn't work for me. Not specifically responding to your post, just saying WD40 made my plastidip problem worse. When it was soaked with WD40 it would move around under my finger and not come off, almost like wet paint. Even with the pressure washer it didn't do anything. I had to wait for the WD40 to dry completely and the plastidip to reharden before I was able to peel any off, and blast hard spots away with the pressure washer.

I have my front emblem plasti dipped now, the others are not. And the front one just pops out.

For the chipping off part, just try spraying more on top, but thicker, it will probably just cover the chipped areas.. If it were paint I wouldn't reccomend that, but since PD is different, you might get away with it covering. Plus it may adhere to itself, then be easier to remove.

I did Mine and and had no issues. I prepped it by lightly spraying degreaser on the emblems to remove any oils. I used black and put 5 coats. I only let it dry about 10 mins after the last coat. I find it easier to remove when plastidip isn't fully dry/hardend. eebda0c0594fab7cdab9d0106d509540_356d92b1d850e64f66b820dd3a9895cf76ddafd0.jpg
