This is what I'm thinking about adding to the bumper. I'll probably use 1" round tubing.

Build thread in sig... 4-link long travel

1.5'' pipe off the back for refference. closer to 1.75'' if you're using tube. only single supports though since it's larger.

I'll see what kind of pipe/tube I can find laying around the shop. If I can't find anything I'll head to the steel yard.

Your tubing going to clear the receiver in that spot? If it's too high it's going to hit the drawer of the box too. I was thinking maybe something like a 1" or 1.25" tubing going across to clear everything.

The rectangular tube is 5" tall and the receiver is 2.5" tall. That leaves me with 1.25" between the top of the receiver and the top of the bumper. So yes, 1" or 1.25" tubing will be in order for the guard.

My plan is to get the box fully mounted before tackling the bumper guard. That way I don't run into interference issues.

Or split the tube into two pieces with the receiver between them. There's no reason it HAS to be 1 piece running the whole length of the rear bumper.

Working on a little sway bracing. Getting closer to having the box mounted.

Time for cleanup. I will drill and tap holes for the box tomorrow along with painting all the new steel on the frame. Then it's finally time to start on the bed.
