I already have LR UCAs. I could use the extended travel coil overs with them right? What part #s should I get for the front and rear?

The front would be 58635 (ifp ext travel), 58735 (remote ext travel), or 58735C (remote w/ CDCV ext travel). Being Sunday I don't have the rear custom build part numbers off the top of my head but will PM you tomorrow with those. You looking for 2.0 or 2.5? Remote res or non?

Probably not res. I do go offroading occasionally. Hoping the new setup would allow me to travel faster over rougher terrain for short periods. (maybe 25mph over rough dirt roads or some of the horrible city streets). My current setup makes it hard to go over 5mph without feeling like something will end up broken. Being on the east coast, I'm not doing any desert racing.

Donahoe AKA Icon is what XXXX is talking about. You can google the Donahoe scandal. This is why I will never give Icon a dollar of my money, ever! Just fyi, some mods get bent out of shape about the topic...so don't be surprised if posts get deleted reference this topic.

We approve of your opinion, we have nothing to hide. ICON in no way condones any of those past actions of that person, nor had anything to do with it. ICON bought the rights to the products and that is it, most of which have been changed/updated at this point. It's sad that people bring this up for absolutely no reason at all, we all work extremely hard here every day. At the end of it we have no issue with your personal feelings, just a bummer that your judging people here at ICON that you don't even know. I do welcome you to come meet us any time and see what ICON is all about though, our doors are always open, you might change your tune.

I was gonna say that scandal seems unrelated to current business

Yeah, I have been to icon. They are Toyota lovers just like us and the issues of the past are not related to anything with products. This was one persons issue and the business should be looked at separately. Keep up the good work.

Brad has earned my respect from my experiences with him on the phone. Icon has earned my current and future business.

I also like the fact Brad is here. Answering questions, giving his opinion, etc.

If you hadn't noticed this is a thread that reads "King vs Icon vs Fox".

Giving opinions and learning is what forums are for.

While Icon may want to hide the past, in my opinion, who a company was originally founded by is pertinent info regardless of the sale of it.

Icon bought the rights and proprietary info from the old company, changed names, and have developed new products based on previous/new R&D.

If Icon didn't need the old company they would of never wasted the money on the rights and would not be connected to the past events.

I'm sure no one at Icon condones the actions of the owner of the previous brand name, but you can not simply skirt the facts.

Measure your travel with the shocks disconnected and compare all the brands.

Icon/King/Billy offered nothing similar to the travel I required for my Tacoma so I was stuck with Fox.

I love my Icons. I have abused my trucks at least two weekends every month this summer and my Icons have handled like a champ. The reach I get on the front with the uniball ucas and extended travel icons pretty much takes stock IFS to its limits. The ride is smooth on and offroad and the resi rears have taken some serious abuse with a swingout bumper, bedrack, RTT, and camping gear.

Are your icons set at 3'' lift? Could You take pics of your cv angles? Thinking about doing the icon stage 1 set a 3'' lift and TC upper control arms. But need to set it at least at 3'' of lift to clear my 275/70/18s with after market bumper I'm just afraid what my cv angles would be. Would like to get rid of the 3'' spacer lift I have now.

Looking to maybe get into a midtravel setup and was wondering if it is NOT recommend to offset your front coilovers with different type rear shocks, because of the different valving (progressive, digressive etc)

For example, If I were to get Extended travel Icon front coilovers and Extended travel Fox RR rear shocks? Or would it be better to just get the Fox front coilovers instead? I am getting the fox rears because it looks like they are the only one who has the length I need. (However I really wanted the Icons all the way around but the rears are too short for my application)

    Thanks for your help guys.

X2 totally agree! Just did a 3200 mile trip through the Midwest with the same Icon setup as mademan and the icons handled like a boss. Did a lot of offroading and they were great.

For the past 6 weeks I drive 300 kms or more everyday through the back roads around Prince George, BC. The potholes are brutal, the dust/mud is thick. My Icons are champs! Sucking up abuse daily, and still riding great on the highway. Good enough for me.

Bump...anyone have a clue, with a Dakar full leaf pack what is the largest rear shock that can be used in the stock location to get the most travel without utilizing a Shackle flip? (I can measure but have no where to really get a good flex without driving hours away and I don't own a hi lift)

was looking at Icon making me a custom length set. I have found some 11" travel ones from Fox with these measurements (wondering if they are too big):

    Shock Travel
    11"
    Extended Length
    28.1"
    Collapsed Length
    17.10"

    any help is appreciated.
