People are in way too much of a hurry now-a-days. I usually drive my truck the peed limit except when the speed limit excedes 2000 rpm. I own a hot rod and always have my friends passing me up when I drive it. They say I drive like a paw paw. People don't seem to get as mad at me when I am driving the chevelle below the speed limit they usually pass and wave.

I was just about to start a thread about road rage when I stumbled across this thread
^I usually do this or just slow down depending on my anger level.

Yesterday, I was on my way home from dinner at my in-law's. I was driving my wifes CRV with my wife and 2 young children. Around a bend comes this little punk POS in a Geo Metro. Speeding, this waste of life nearly caught air over a small hump, started swerving head-on towards my family and I. I slowed and headed onto the shoulder to avoid the impending doom of a violent collision. He regained control and continued on without so much as a glance in my direction.

At the very moment I saw this a-hole nearly lose control, I got multiple vivid images of this car rolling over into our vehicle and killing me, my wife, my kids or any combination of. Instantly, I am taken over by a rage that scared even me. My knuckles turned white, veins popped out in my head, my eyes turned red. I could tell my wife new I was experiencing a whole new level of anger. She left me be as I drove home without speaking a word.

Although she knew I was mad, she had no idea of the violent thoughts that flooded my mind after the images of tragedy had cleared. I wanted, in the worst way, to follow this kid to his destination and put the fear of god into him.....with my fists. I wanted to rip him through his window and pummel him until I don't know what. It was bad. Very bad.

That being said. Who thinks I need therapy?

Geez..... i don't know, i think maybe some of us would react the same way, its not the same when an a-hole put your life in danger.... but when it comes to family... thats a different story....

Yeah, that's kinda what I thought. I almost get killed at work all the time by jackasses on the roadways. It makes me mad, puts me in a bad mood, but does not generally impregnate my mind with murderous thoughts. That kid just made me snap, mentally and emotionally. I don't want anyone to think I'm a psychopath, but like ridgerunner said, TW and it's members are like therapy for me sometimes. For that, I thank you.

Toy-you have that much love for your family. You don't need therapy you need to be respected as one who saw his world flash before his eyes caused by some prick who NEVER deserves to share the road with you! When you read my first post you see that my feelings about my wife were the same.

Now that it's off my chest, I can put it behind me. My wife wouldn't have understood the kind of thoughts I was experiencing.

Definately let it go...she would understand-she just don't wanna see it in her Man know what I mean? Those feelings of rage are what a man gets when somebody violates his sacred space so coldly takes big knards to let the feelings go

Read that part after post.( Slow typeing.) Agreed, did the right thing. I hadn't looked at the date this thread was started,Didn't see there was even a second page. Felt pretty foolish seeing that after I'd posted.

In the old days I would slam on the brakes. Today...I would tap the brake to get his attention. If that didn't workt then I would take my foot off the accelerator and make the moron go around me.
