Yikes! Yeah, you know where I am coming from then. Sorry top hear about your issues. I think I am fortunate it was not worse. I am having no battery/shorting issues.... yet. Hopefully it remains that way. I doubt insurance will cover offroad water damage.

What was the result of your short (where did the fire start?) ;) that sucks

We went fishing, i had the radio playing for about 2 hours? Someone yelled out fire! The fire started from the passenger kick panel. Right under the ecu. Think dealer quoted 4 harnesses, with labor from them was 4500

You would be surprised of what insurance will cover. I'd say call and ask before making a claim. Most likely they will

Lol what a way to make a grand entrance into the forum.

    Welcome OP.

If I was to take one well educated guess. I would say water contaminated oxygen sensors. Pull out your coil packs also and check to see if there is water or moisture in there as well. If available, take a compressed air hose with a blow tip attachment, pull each individual spark plug out and blow air into it with a rag covering the hole to see if there is any water remnants in there. I'm a bit doubtful because the heat of the engine should had boiled that off by now, but let's not leave anything to chance. Let me know.

This, water getting down by the plugs with make it misfire. But water boiling off, won't happened.

Been down this road. Engine is not misfiring, I have already removed all coils/plugs and blown out cylinders. All were dry.

I really need to check fuel pressure, but these stupid quick connects are throwing me for a loop. The FSM gives a part number for a Fuel Hose Connector and T neither which my dealership can source.

With mine, I think the water got into the wire and rubber that plugs into the connector. Think that might had something to do with my issue

Why would you check fuel pressure? That's a good thing to check but I wouldn't go that deep into it just yet. I would check the oxygen sensors. Bet you anything that when they ingested water they got contaminated and are now shorting out. I know on GM cars, the oxygen sensors are quick to short out after something as simple as hydroplaning. Now take that and amplify it to a full submerge, like happened to you. Don't you think it's going to cause issues? Do you have the check engine light on? Is it blinking at all if so?

Exactly. OP did you physically examine the inside boots of the coil packs fir moisture, because if you just looked at them, called them dry and tossed them back in that's the wrong examination OP.

Ok let me clear up a few things.

-yes, I inspected all coils and plugs.
-I am NOT misfiring, so plugs are sparking
-Yes, I have a CEL. P0171 and P0174. These codes are "Engine Running Too Lean" hence the need to check fuel pressure.

I have either too MUCH air or too LITTLE fuel or a sensor malfunction. I can check 02 and A/F sensor values with my OBD reader, I will verify they are in spec, but the fuel system is running Closed loop and not throwing sensor codes.

You do not need to be throwing sensor codes for them to be running poorly to affect air fuel ratio.

Look at your original pictures and realize how submerged you are. What are the first electronics to go? The oxygen sensors. What do those do? Take a minute amount of air sample from the outside and make their adjustments from there. If it invests water, you are toast. Call them done. Monitor those sensors if you have the equipment to do so, and if they are, awesome, so move on with the diagnosing. If not then I told you so, and replace the bad sensors.

This site is awesome. Love that pic PSU! That was ballsy haha I suspect I will need a starter as well eventually The solonoid is a little sticky.

My plan of attack is this:

Check sensor valvues tonight agaist the FSM.

I have a buddy who is going to check fuel pressure for me tomorrow.

Pending results of that test, I will drop the tank and check things out in there. I have been holding off putting in fresh gas incase I had to do this.
