After reading this from the Mobil1 site, I've done the drain and refill with M1. (My dipstick and drain plug both speck Dex-II) Of course after 2 1/2 quarts I don't expect to feel a big difference, but everything feels good. Planning on another drain and fill, maybe today. Then repeat every week or so until looks like new.

Just wondering who else, if anyone, was running Mobil1 Syn ATF? And if you are, will you continue next time? If not, what will you run?

    TIA

Thanks for the input. As for the drain and fill, I have only owned this truck for about 8k miles and it has about 138k on it now (if memory serves). I really dont know what service was done prior, so I am erring on cautions side.

As for the fill, I took out about 2 and a half quarts and that was what I put back in. But it does look high on the dipstick. The next drain and fill I might add a quart less and then check level.

With 138K miles on it, perhaps you should get a flush & fill done?

I've used Mobile 1 ATF for many things but I never had an Auto tranny that I've had to service yet. I've used the Mobile 1 ATF in a 96 tacoma steering pump (flush/fill) and Jeep transfer cases. Great stuff.

Good to hear your success in using the M1ATF. As for the Tranny flush, I've been scared off after reading horror stories of 'flushes gone wrong'... I'm sticking with the drain and fill until it looks like new as it seems the safest. (This vehicle wasn't abused, all fluids have looked good including ATF. I just want to know for sure and start the clock on a regular maintenance schedule.)
