I called my local dealerships in the hunt for factory take offs for TRD wheels and what not. They don't have any 17" sport wheels but he said he does have 17" 4Runner wheels that fit nicely on a Taco. He sent me a pic and I can't seem to upload it from my mobile so I'll have to show pictures tonight. What do you think? I don't like my 16" off roads and maybe the 4Runner wheels won't make it look as stock as if I shelled out for TRD ones.

Some of them I think are nice - some not so nice but rims are all personal preference.

I prefer nice stock rims to aftermarket. I like the clean look. I have 17 sport wheels for summers and 16 off road wheels for my winters. I think I like the 16's more.

Throw some new rubber on those 4R wheels and I'll trade you my 10 ply MS2's on Sport 17's.

I say save up for what you want your truck to look like.
I never understood people who go through multiple sets, no ones gonna really judge you for having stock wheels till you get the ones you like it ain't a race.
It depends, are 4runner wheels the look you're ultimately looking for? But it's your $ so do as you want
I went all out and got some rare wheels. First and final set.

These are the ones he showed me. The price is right, it will get me into 265/17s, and it won't look as stock. Possibly dip them too? I've been really patient on changing the wheels. It's something I wanted to upgrade since I bought it. I thought about 18's but given our overall diameter limit, I think 18s look goofy with that little sidewall. 17 is a happy medium and still practical for shock absorption.

I just saw a Tacoma with those wheels on today. I think they look pretty good on the truck. But like Tashcomer said, make sure these are the wheels you want before spending the money. Also, have you thought about putting on the FJ TRD center caps on your Off-Road wheels? I did, and I think it makes them look a ton better!

I've never seen those center caps. I know I don't like the TRD sport center caps, they stick out so far you have to worry about catching your shin on them! ;) I don't like the 16's because putting 265s on them makes them bubble out far past the wheel, and they look too tiny encapsuled in that much sidewall. I prefer the sporty look (one of the reasons I went Access cab).
I've put 30,000 miles on the stock Dunlops. It was my mission to wear them down before I got new wheels and rubber. That time has come.

If I was on a computer, I would post up a picture of the center caps on the OR wheels. Or show you a link from a thread here on TW.
Its funny, my truck had 17in wheels on it when I bought it, and I ended buying the OR wheels.

I prefer the 18" 4Runner wheels, but the 17's are nicer than the OEM Tacoma wheels by far...

Absolutely love my 4Runner wheels - came off of a 2014. Keep an eye on Craigslist. I picked up this set, both wheels and tires, for $600. They had all of 10 miles or so on them.

I like the TRD wheels above as well... those are the Baja wheels?? Probably my fav. I don't know those wheels your dealer said came off a 4Runner. The 3rd gen 18" 4Runner Limited wheels look great on the Tacoma and I think can be had fairly reasonable. I have a set of '14 4Runner Trail/FJ Cruiser wheels that just went on my 4Runner... now I just need to swap out the tires if I keep my rig... I've been lurking here thinking about a Tacoma since we already have another SUV. Here's pics of mine with the original wheels and with Trail wheels... I'd consider these for your Tacoma. ;)

btw... I like those 20" wheels but the tire selection is pretty slim... :(

Those look super clean on the Taco. I think I'm sold. The 18's are actually really nice, what's the sidewall? 55? They don't look too "low profile" actually, I likey.

They're not my truck(s)... I pulled both pics from other threads (one from ToyotaNation).

Sorry, I guess I should've indicated that. But glad I could help.

And after looking at the wheels you posted again, I'm not sure they're the same as the 17" 2004-'09 4Runner Sport wheels I posted.

    Hmmm...

I might go 18". It doesn't look to "low pro" and 18s stick out much more than the 17s. Definitely has the street truck vibe! Two thumbs up.
