I'm just going with new 35's right now to save some cash. This spring I'll jump on the interco 36's.

Ant has his on now and his speedo is only off by 2mph.

 

Thats crazy. I guess those of us who plan on keeping our rigs don't really care though

Bottom line is just take care of it with scheduled maintenance and you'll be fine.
161K or not I'd jump in it and drive to California tomorrow with out batting an eye.

It's only got 250 miles on the new suspension.

 

I don't care about the mileage on mine. I know mine is about 5% off. When the speedo says I'm doing 70, I'm actually doing 75mph. Haven't been pulled over for speeding yet.

 

You coming back down to Rausch next summer?

 

I haven't been yet. When is it? I could try to make sure I'm on vacation that week.

Oops, my bad. There's a good group of NE guys that come down to Rausch every July. I thought you'd done that before...

They've got a 4x4 club up there and they do a group meet.

I've been with them twice & had a blast each time.

 

Maybe I'll have new suspension by then and will make the trip.

 

Joe (blackout14) was kind enough to come with me today & I dropped the truck off to get that oil leak looked at. I crawled under there again today and I honestly think it's the oil pan gasket that's taken a shit. We'll see...

Also removed and broke down both the cap and cab racks to get powder coated. I've been doing steady business with this company for some time now & the owner gets a kick out of my truck. He's offered to do it on the house.



I just hope I get it back in time for the big dogs meet!

So the truck's been at the shop all week. Since it's not my DD and they know it they did not even look at it until today.



Somehow, someway, somewhere, I got something caught up in between the skids and the motor/trans.
It's not there anymore but the carnage is.

whatever it was, rock or metal, it chewed up a good bit of the housing of the trans:


The oil leak itself is a different story. I don't know how but the main aluminum pan took a healthy hit. Enough to create a very small crack that began seeping oil.
I checked after I noticed the leak and the oil level was still fine.

Here's the spot:

Since it is so small and apparently the oil is not under pressure they're going to JB Weld the spot. Currently it sits on the lift devoid of oil.
Once it cures they'll fill it up & see how that works.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed because apparently swapping that pan out is a major job.

I don't know how much more I could do - I've got full BudBuilt skids - IFS, belly, & t-case. What more is there?
